Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)

1. I'm terribly loyal and protective of those I care about. It's not easy for me to trust people but once I feel close to them I can be like a lioness with her cubs.

2. I am very determined to accomplish what I want. Once I set my eyes on an objective I'll stubbornly pursue it.

3. I like to think I am kind to others and care when many other people don't. Your typical 'help the old lady cross the road' thing. While I may suck at expressing my feelings, I tend to crack jokes when I feel others (or myself) are feeling sad. I make the worst puns sometimes ^^;

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.

1. It's very hard for me to trust others because I have been hurt in the past. Because of this, I hold a somewhat cynical view of other people. I simply can't bring myself to think the best about others. On the other hand, the few people I hold close I let them get away with things that hurt me because I can't bring myself to be mad at them. I often pretend to be cheerful when I'm not.

2. While I'm usually calm, and let by many things that certainly hurt me, when I snap I snap. If I was a summon I'd be a hybrid between Ifrit and Bahamut because the only thing I haven't done is spit fire at others when I'm pissed. (But I have yet to hurl chinaware around, worry not).

3. I have very low self esteem and am too hard on myself.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain: I like to think things are way better now. I was always terribly shy. As a kid I hardly talked at all.

Cheerful [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Gloomy
Explain: I tend to have mood swings. While the smallest thing can cheer me up instantly, it depends on the days, really. Because I am quiet, people tend to think I'm gloomy.

Leader [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Supportive
Explain: I'm just the 'go with the flow' type if I see it's not worth the effort (again, cynical). People never tend to hear me when I speak up anyways.

Confident [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Modest
Explain: I have always had low self esteem but I'm trying to counter it.

Reserved [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain: I always think things through before I go with them. More often than not I think way too much about them.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] Calm
Explain: Seriously, either me or my sister is adopted. I am calm (sometimes lazy I admit). I just like to take things slowly, especially when people around me are always so stressed and in a frenzy.

Feminine [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain: Another stalemate. Well I've had a period when I dressed as a boy but I guess every other girl goes through that while growing up? I'm definitely more feminine now, often wear skirts and what not but I'm not excessively so as I also wear jeans on a regular basis, dislike pink like woah and I don't look like a walking jewellry stall. Plus, I have been told that I like boyish stuff like video games (this is when you all throw bricks at the screen, right?) but I don't consider them something strictly aimed towards one gender.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went. Definitely by myself. Working with others is always a pain because in a group of course there are people who are never happy. By myself I can work much faster since I can organize things much easier. If there is no way around but work in group and I see the current leader sucks at having any work done I will step forward and just give each member a task.

5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time? Lately? Playing Final Fantasy 8D I first started playing video games in my teenage years and now that I'm unemployed well...not much to do is there? But I also enjoy reading (lately way too much fanfiction I confess) and listening to music.

6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.

Working in a bookshop - serious you'll find it hard to find any bigger book worm out there;

Editor/writer - since I love writing this would definitely be a job I'd like to have.

Work in a cruiser ship - I'd say flight attendant but Im too paranoid to go around in a plane 24/7. I can override my inate fear of the sea too if that gets me touring the world snd seeing new things. Plus, on a shipwreck you get a bigger survival rate than on a plane crash, right? 8D

FF Questions:

7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay. Hm I can be biased and list the ones I'm currently playing, no? Fine, I won't...
Let's see...I only played 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12 and Crisis Core out of the Final Fantasies. I played all Kingdom Hearts that are for the Playstation systems and Dissidia. Well, VIII is right out of the question if only because when I first played it at 14, was still learning English and that crazy story did nothing for me to understand it. I was crazy about X at the time it came out but if you ask me now that I look at it I go 'meh'. Plus I have this ingrained hate for Yuna's English voice...

Hm 12 felt too complicated story-wise when I first played it though I now love it to bits so you can count this one in. Crisis Core I also loved because Zack is definitely adorkable and one of my fave characters. And lastly I also like Dissidia if only because it includes a variety of characters and a nice story that appears simple but it never is (like in everything Square Enix).

8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

Moogles!

Zack - because he's just cheerful in mostly every situation you throw him in. I don't know, I just think he's adorkable in every sense of the word.

Zangetsu Auron - cryptic and mysterious badass old man? What's not to love about him? Brownie points for stealing Vash's red coat (Trigun, anyone?)

Uh...the Ronsenburg twins? they totally count as one While the 'evil twin' storyline is a bit perused what's not to love about the drama that is 'kill another nation's king just because big brother left woe-iz-me'. Okay, okay, I'm being evil but I still love Basch and Noah and all their dramah.

9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:

Squall - if you're still awake and remember my talk about not trusting easily and having a cynical view of like and etc...yeah.

Cloud - I like to think I'm not quite as brooding as he is and, since I haven't played FF7 (it's on the list anyways), I can't say I really know him but I can relate to his determination and self-doubt.

Yuna - Much as I dislike her, I can relate to her in the way that she tried to change from her past self in X-2. In the end she still has doubts and maybe the change was a bit too extreme (seriously, Squeenix I have belts wider than those shorts what the fudge...). Bottom line is I also have tried to change.

10) The FF game you liked playing least: Now I know I am going to be bricked but...FF7 ^^; I'm not sure if it's because of the old school graphics (or not cuz Ive played various games with old school graphics) but much as I love the story I can't seem to get into it with all those lego pieces running around. It's like I need the graphics to make the story justice as well. Or maybe it's because I played Crisis Core before trying 7 and got too used to bishounen or something (Genesis gtfo)

11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:

Yuna - I think the goodie goodie self sacrifice thing is way over done - maybe because they want to enhance the surprise value that in the end the one who disappears is Tidus instead of her - but I just can't stand her at times. I place part of the blame in her English voice because it really grates on my nerves. Guess I'm not a fan of Hedi Buress.

Genesis - Self insert? Check. Way too bishounen? Check. Annoying as hell? Double check. Gary stu? You gotcha. Mind you, he might have been more bearable if you didn't spend the whole game putting up with him and the goddess.

12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):

Complicated question...there are so many =/ Names, I'm all for the cool names. I like Gilgamesh's collection in XII and I know most of them are replicas of past weapons. Others include Francisca, Gungnir, Lionheart, Save the Queen, Ragnarok, Highway Star, Ancient Sword.

13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.): Odin is badass. Also like Alexander.

14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.): I go for Holy.

15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into: So many! FF9 card game and X-2 coin game. Also, BBS Command Board.

16) Your favorite Cid: From the few I know I'd say...X, Rikku's father =) If anything cursing in Al Bhed is endearing.

17) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.

I'm thinking of a Dragoon for you because - okay, firstly, you have a terser quality of speech which makes me think of the quieter classes, plus the fact that you lean towards calmness and are more gloomy than cheerful. They're also good at functioning alone. They can be darker than other character types, but they're not exactly brooding, either.

Ahahaha. You sort of remind me of myself, except our opinions on the Final Fantasies differ a bit, I could see bits of White Mage, Soldier, and Dragoon, here. (I'm also getting little vibes of Monk, too. You're blunt and loyal, which is definitely Monk, but there's not enough there to go with Monk.)

It's difficult, while I can definitely see traits of Dragoon (you relate to Squall, you think on things before doing them, you do a lot of quiet contemplation, you're loyal) I can also see bits of Soldier mixed with White Mage, because of your kindness and generosity towards others, although White Mage got knocked out a bit for me as I read through futher...I'm teetering on Soldier and Dragoon, because you can have a cheerful disposition and do want to help others, and Soldier is a pretty flexible class, they can be happy and sad, helpful and occasionally moody, I'm sure...

Hmm! After much contemplation, I've decided to go with Dragoon. I was really wanting to put you in Soldier, but I think you're a bit too reserved and calm for that, despite the flexibility of the class. (PS: Hope you have fun here!)

Ahhhhh. XD Well, even without that quality, my vote would still have gone to Dragoon anyway, so. It just happened to be the first thing that struck me.

Ah, once you get a specific class, you may either snag one that [livejournal.com profile] roax has already made, here (http://community.livejournal.com/ff_classchange/5497.html) or request one, from your specific class (they have to be a character from whichever class you pick) and for more details on classes, I suggest looking here (http://community.livejournal.com/ff_classchange/675.html) where class information is listed, some stamps are posted for each class, and the characters for that specific class are listed. I hope that helps a little? ^__^ Once you're stamped, you'll have to stamp others, so you should familiarize yourself with each class. Or, keep it bookmarked, in case you forget anything. ^^

You don't *have* to use a banner, though, you could always just sign your comment with what class you are, the banners are just shiny ways for us to show off what class we're in. XD (I guess it makes it a bit easier to tell with a big, flashy banner in your comment, too)

No worries. I was a pretty difficult one to stamp, too. Some of us are rare-breeds, hehe. :)

To add to what [livejournal.com profile] purpletrance has already explained very well - if you want a different one, you can also makue your own with maximum dimensions 350px wide and 200px tall, and use that. :)

[identity profile] purpletrance.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, a moogle class! I can imagine the silly "kupo? kupo! kupopo!" insanity already. XD Cute idea. :)

No problem! In order to get the full experience, you need all the details, so I don't mind helping another. ♥

[identity profile] breyzyyin.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I can definitely see you fitting into either the Dragoon, Soldier, or Monk class...but I think I'm leaning the most towards Dragoon overall too. You're loyal, determined, caring (even sometimes when others aren't!), have difficulty trusting others, calm unless you snap, and can be hard on yourself...which are traits I think can fit both the Dragoons and the Soldiers pretty equally. However, your preference to working by yourself when in a team setting and "going with the flow" when it comes to leadership/supportive roles makes me lean more towards the Dragoon class overall (I think Soldier characters tend to speak up more when in group settings than the impression I was getting from how you described how you work in teams). Many Dragoon characters can be introverted, lean more towards gloomy, can be more modest, are reserved and calm. I think your reasoning behind relating to Squall, Cloud, and Yuna actually reminds me a lot of how the characters in the Dragoon class are portrayed. :) Haha, I totally agree with you on Genesis!

I see a bit of White Mage (calm and quiet personality, lack of self-esteem, kind to others -- I definitely see why you compared yourself to Yuna) but I think you're very Dragoon overall. I can see Dragoons having an explosive temper under a very calm surface, which is something I don't really see White Mages having, Loyal, protective, and determined are definitely words I'd use for the Dragoon personality and I think your cynical nature is most suited to a Dragoon, more than any other class.

Yeaah, I'm gonna have to be completely unoriginal and agree with Dragoon. I mean, I really got a lot of Monk vibes with you saying that you snap which is always something I think of as a Monk trait, but your reticence won out, methinks.

[identity profile] plastic-vinyl.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I see why people chose Dragoon. I would have to agree, myself. Mainly because of how you see yourself as Squall and Cloud but also a bit of Yuna as well. But you're also very loyal, gloomy but still caring and calm towards others, which made me think of more than one class for you besides just Solider and Dragoon. And I also see where the Soldier choice is comin' from as well. That was my first choice for you, but in the end, I decided to pick this.

Oh, I know you! Kinda!

I admit I always thought of you before as kinda magey because of the characters you played, but your personality doesn't seem much like it and it's not like I knew you well. XD;

I'd say either Dragoon or Soldier, but like everyone else's said, I'm also leaning more towards Dragoon, because you seem more loyal and quiet, whereas Soldiers seem a little more... gung-ho and leadery?

Image

[identity profile] arivess.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
How've you been doing?

It looks like it, yeah. XD Who're you picking?

Thankus! XD

[identity profile] virago-queen.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I (like everyone else xD) think you're mostly a Dragoon. You give me a sort of stoic, loyal, cynical vibe, which I connect with Dragoons like Kain. I don't really think there's much I can add that hasn't been said..lol.

Hmm...this is a bit hard for me because I could see some elements of Soldier, White Mage, and Monk at times in your application--but I think overall I'm going to be leaning towards a Dragoon vote as well. I could see quite a few Dragoon characters fitting for various aspects of your application (the main contenders being Ricard, Kain, Freya, Kimahri, and Fang). They are often very loyal and protective of the people they care about and sometimes are a bit slower to trust than others might be (though once trust has been established, they are very loyal towards that person). They are also very determined characters and are often rather kind in their interactions with people even when others might not be--though that is often in a quiet, supportive way depending on the Dragoon character in question. They are sometimes not quick to trust others and can be cynical at times due to that, and they tend to be rather calm too (though in instances where their emotions get out of control, they can be terrifying). Many of them are often hard on themselves at times too (Kain and Kimahri are probably the best examples of this). Quite a few Dragoon characters tend to be more of the introverted side of the spectrum, could be described as "gloomy" by others (though more often than not they are just more quiet and can have a pretty good mood range), can be more along the lines of "go with the flow" in their views on leadership and support, tend to be more modest, are quite reserved in their actions, and are rather calm overall. Your thoughts on group-work and how you would handle a situation where a leader didn't seem to be doing their job properly actually does remind me quite a bit of some Dragoon characters too (Kain especially, actually). All in all, I could easily see you being an awesome Dragoon! :D

And I loved hearing your thoughts on FF too. Hehe, working in a bookstore would be awesome as well. :)

Monk

Adding absolutely nothing that hasn't been said before, I vote ye, Dragoon! The introversion, fierce loyalty but slight standoffishness really gets me here.

And welcome to the madhouse, bro, hope you enjoy your stay here! :3
