Personality Questions:
1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
* I'm a friendly person. As long as you're not being hostile on first meeting, I'm happy to make friends and get along with people.
* I have a pretty good memory, especially for the written word. I can usually remember the plot of books I've read and summarise what was covered.
* I'm pretty creative. Not in the art sense, but in the sense of ideas and writing. I can get pretty inspired by various things and come up with interesting ways to view something that was ordinary before.
2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
* I can be quick to anger but I'm also quick to let it go after I spend some time venting. But that means I've already gotten angry and irritated.
* I procrastinate. There are lots of stuff I really shouldn't put off but if I think I can get away with it, I tend to leave things to another day.
* I'm a perfectionist. Sometimes I really need things to be just perfect. Whether it's playing to the perfect game or getting a perfect score, the need for it to be just right can be quite stressful.
3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.
Introverted [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain:
I can oscilate between the two depending on the situation. I do take time to warm up to people and I can be shy in a crowd. But I'm happy to welcome new people to the fold and try and get them settled in. Depending on my mood at the time, I could be outgoing or reserved.
Cheerful [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain:
I'm generally a cheerful person aside from the blues now and then. I don't like letting the world get me down even if I do spend some time whining about it. But even with all that, I'm an optimist at heart no matter how cynical my words.
Reserved [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain:
I like to take my time to think things through but I do sometimes get caught up on impulse. Most people say I'm rather level-headed. I do like to take a step back from a situation if I feel it's getting too complicated so I can focus on what's important.
Energetic [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Calm
Explain:
In tense situations, I tend towards trying to see what's happening rather than simply reacting. A bee once fell on my back in class and while the girls beside me were shrieking I just asked someone to flick it off my back since I couldn't see it.
Feminine [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain:
When thinking of my masculine and feminine traits, I do tend towards the feminine. Although my clothing is casual most of the times, I do like to dress up on occassion and I like to think my behaviour is lady-like.
Grudge-holding [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Forgiving
Explain:
I can hold a grudge, especially if it was something major. Although I don't really act on my grudges, I do remember and it can sometimes colour my reactions.
4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.
I'm happy to play a supporting role in teams and as long as I can get along with other members in a team, I'm okay with working in one. I prefer to let others make decisions but if necessary I'll put myself forward so things will get done.
5) Spider-Man Decision: If you had to choose between saving two dozen innocent children and saving your best friend/significant other/person closest to you, which would you pick and why?
I would save the children. Although it would hurt me personally, the needs of many outweigh the needs of the few. Still, I'll rather be like spider-man and save them both. :)
6) Your friend has had their feelings hurt and comes to you for consolation. What do you do? Let's say, two days later they come to you again still upset over the same issue. What would you do in that case?
I would listen to what they have to say and try and comfort her. Depending on what the friend is looking for, I may or may not offer a solution. Even if she comes back again over the same issue, it's important to see if she just wants a friend she can talk to or she actually wants some help to resolve the issue.
7) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?
I like reading and gaming. In my free time, I go to the library or surf the internet to read and play games.
8) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.
My ideal career is to be a librarian and be able to work with books for a living. To organise the books and share them with the public is something I find enriching.
FF Questions:
9) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.
FF8 holds a special place in my heart because it was the game that introduced me to Final Fantasy. It had gorgeous graphics, an interesting storyline and lots of things to discover.
I also like FF13 because it really is very pretty. Perhaps I'm superficial, but complicated systems and battles will only go so far. If I'm going to spend
10) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:
Chocobo. He's adorable and they had the racing and dungeon games for him. And for people who say he's just a cute mount, the chocobo dungeon games had plot and the voice acting gave him emotion.
Tifa. I like her strong and independent character, nicely balanced with her caring nature. She fought through all the difficulties life threw at her and became better and stronger for it.
11) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:
Quistis Trepe. I find her personality quite similar to mine and I find I can relate to the situation she found herself in where she had to take on responsibility and ends up being viewed as more mature than her peers. Being rather quiet and serious when I was younger, I ended up growing up a little faster as well and my teachers always commented on my apparent maturity.
12) The FF game you liked playing least:
FF12. I didn't really like the license system. I enjoy characters having specialised signature weapons that they're really good at using as the default.
13) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:
Vanille from FF13. Unfortunately, her character development throughout the entire game went from bad to worst. I kept hoping something would be revealed that would redeem her character, but she ended up being a mostly whiny girl that was saved by Fang repeatedly. Maybe that's not what happened, but that was the impression I got.
14) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):
I liked Fang's weapon from FF13 because when I made the upgrade to the second level, it seriously looked like she was using a broom to kick ass. Which was actually pretty neat and also kinda funny.
15) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):
Diabolos. Because using a black hole to kill everything is cool.
16) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):
I liked Lightning's Army of One because when she used that to attack creatures, the slow-motion would enable creatures to be frozen with the most amusing of faces.
17) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:
I played the card game in FF8 so many times in a row my SEED level actually went down.
18) Your favorite Cid:
It has to be the one from Chocobo Racing. I liked a cheerful Cid in no danger and just helping with upgrades and having a good time.

So long as a person is not being overly hostile or confrontational upon first meeting them, most Black Mage characters can be pretty friendly to those they meet. Quite a few of them display fairly good memory as well and are rather studious by nature (Shantotto, Arc, Doga, Vivi in how he chronicles his time with everyone, Lulu, Rydia, and Palom are prime examples of this)...and they can be fairly creative too. Your weaknesses bring to mind quite a few Black Mage characters at times too.
Black Mage characters often seem to be either slightly more outgoing or extroverted depending on situations at hand: Arc is pretty introverted overall, but he enjoys talking to Luneth and is more outgoing in his interactions with Alus later in the game...and Rydia can be quiet but will talk when she feels a situation warrants it or she feels comfortable around someone, for examples. While they do sometimes have instances where they feel somewhat down, many Black Mage/Red Mage characters also tend to be more cheerful in their mannerisms overall or more optimistic in how they view things (Arc, Vivi after interacting with everyone, Lulu around those she cares for, Terra with the children at the orphanage, Rydia, Palom). Black Mage and Red Mage characters are often seen as being more level-headed in comparison to some of the other members of their parties as well and tend to like to take a step back from a problem to analyze it more carefully...and they often seem to react to things more calmly and approach them from the stance of wanting to see what has happened than simply reacting to it at first. There are a few Black Mage characters who perhaps do hold grudges for really major things, though they would probably not react to it overly much as some of the characters in other Job Classes might do and instead it just might come through in how they view situations later.
How you responded to the teamwork question strikes me as very Black Mage-like: Black Mages are capable of taking the lead when they feel it is necessary to do so, but they tend to let others make the decisions and like having supportive roles in group settings overall. I could see them in how you answered the Spider-man question too: most Black Mages WOULD probably try to save the children despite that being a really hard decision for them to make due to a viewpoint of "the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few" (Shantotto seems to have a pretty good understanding of this from her past experiences though she prefers not dwelling on them too much and ultimately would want to find a better solution to prove she could just because, Lulu understood Chappu's reasoning for doing what he did before the events of FFX...and Doga chose to sacrifice himself in order to help the four Warriors of Light stop Xande, a man he once considered a friend, from destroying the world)...and I could even see quite a few of them (Lulu later on in FFX, Shantotto, Rydia, Palom, Vivi, Arc, Terra) wanting to be ultimately LIKE Spider-man and ideally save everyone if they felt they could find a way to do so. :)
How would console a friend is very fitting with how many of the Black Mages interacted with those close to them in their respective games...and I could picture quite a few Black Mage characters sharing similar interests and hobbies as you listed, and I imagine many of them would find your ideal career rather lovely too (Arc, Doga, or Vivi probably would especially! ♥). :)
I loved reading your responses to the FF questions! Hehe, yay for FFVIII and FFXIII love...and Chocobo appreciation too! ♥ I love Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon in particular...the story in that game was quite touching and memorable. ♥

Then, I really wanted to say soldier, particularly with types like Ramza, Ingus, and Cecil in mind, but you don't really fit with the other, perhaps even more common types of soldiers on either two sides. (The Tidus types or the Squall types)
Overall, I think I'm leaning very slightly towards Black Mage. Your mindset in some questions seems more solidery or dragoony to me, but since those are mainly the fandom questions, the others rule them out. They're more likely to be supportive, where as soldiers and dragoons strike me more as either leaders or loners. Some are prone towards the perfectionist mindset, most are friendly enough, but do take time to warm up to others... They're generally calmer and more reserved, and some would agree with your spider-man decision (even if others wouldn't, the same could be said for some of the dragoons and soldiers as whole groups).

Your teamwork answer strikes me as the most fitting for a Black Mage though and was ultimately what made me pick it over Soldier for you...I think the Black Mage characters are pretty happy to play supporting roles in teams so long as everyone is working well together, but they'll also put themselves forward if they feel things need to get done. Your Spider-Man answer strikes me as fitting for quite a few of the Black Mage characters, as do your interests/hobbies and ideal careers. I could also see a Black Mage like Lulu answering very similarly to you in the "consoling a friend" situation. XD

I didn't want to vote first, but, you know, looking at the votes before mine, I see it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. I think so far everyone in our gamer group is a Black Mage.
I... IDK. I'd give you a better explanation, but it's you. I'd feel weird pointing out details, somehow. I've always thought of you as Black Mage, anyway, O Exalted ST - intelligent, sometimes a procrastinator, relatively friendly, quick-witted and creative. <3

I am going to say Black Mage as well, even though the only game I've played that had an honest-to-goodness Black Mage was FFX. At the beginning of their journey, Lulu was the one calling the shots for the others, taking responsibility for all of them, even Tidus, whom she had an obvious disdain for - though she did eventually warm to him.
Black Mages are reserved and in control of themselves, which is important, because they can blow you up good if you make them mad.
I do hope you enjoy our community. Welcome! ♥

Re: Team Black Mage
Army of One is really funny when used against a Cactuar.
Black Mage
overall i felt you had a mage vibe, and you could make a good white mage, but your negative traits push me more towards black mage

Soldier
You seem very self-contained, aware, mature, and intelligent. Your comment on holding grudges - not actively seeking revenge, but potentially allowing it to color your actions - stood out, as did your tendency to "step back" and analyze.
Re: Team Black Mage
...Only if you consider that it was going to be the whole city first, I guess :c
