Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)

1. Studiousness and work ethic. I am a really hard worker and I am never satisfied unless I know I have put my best effort into whatever it is I am doing.

2. Open-mindedness. I try my hardest not to be judgmental of people and always to think about what it would be like to be in their shoes. I almost always give people the benefit of the doubt.

3. Low Maintenance. I'm a pretty easy going person and I don't need much to be satisfied. My ideal day is to laze around the house with a cup of coffee and a book next to the ones I love.

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.

1. Absentmindedness. If something isn't in my immediate sight, I tend to forget about it. I'm constantly misplacing things, so much so that I've developed a nervous habit of always checking to make sure I have my purse/keys/wallet.

2. Inability to effectively multi-task. I can't watch T.V and listen to someone talk to me. If a lot of things are going on, my mind tends to blank and I forget about everything.

3. I always think I'm right, even if I'm wrong. Sometimes my pride gets in the way of me admitting to fault. Also, I'm a really poor sport and hate losing, even if its something as silly as a game or an argument. I won't play games if I know I'm going to lose.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [ ] [ ] [X ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain: Like anyone, I have traits of being both an extrovert and an introvert, it mainly just depends on the situation. When I'm going to the store or going to hang out with friends, I tend to be very friendly with friends and strangers alike, and I also tend to be a bit of a joker. On the other hand, if I'm busy working or have something I need to do, I tend to be more withdrawn and silent. I'm also a terrible public speaker.

Cheerful [ ] [X ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain: I'm a generally optimistic and happy person. Bouts of depression or sadness last for a short time, I rarely stay angry for long, and if I have something that is bothering me, I like to talk about it right away rather than wait.

Leader [ ] [ X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Supportive
Explain: This is another of those traits where I am a little bit of both. I like having a plan and having someone tell me or give me a list of things I need to do. However, when it comes to group projects, I prefer being a part of the planning process. Particularly if its a project for school, I prefer to have more control over the outcome, whether that means delegating tasks or taking on most of the workload myself.

Confident [ ] [ ] [ ] [X ] [ ] Modest
Explain: I've been plagued with self doubts for most of my life, so I generally am not a confident person. I'm modest on the side of being slightly self-depreciating and I like having conformation of other people's opinion because I don't always trust my own judgement.

Reserved [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain: I don't tend to make impulsive decisions, even if I can be impulsive in my thought process. And example would be when I go to the store, I tend to pick up items on whim or out of desire, but by the time I get to the register, I've convinced myself I don't need them. This is a direct cause of my frugal nature. I don't mind going along with sudden decisions or being flexible, as my boyfriend is exactly the impulsive type, but I prefer to have some notice in advance.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Calm
Explain: When I am happy, I bounce around or dance on my feet. I have a very silly side to me when I'm around people I'm comfortable with. However, I am more calm and reserved in public places.

Feminine [ ] [ ] [X ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain: I like sports and hanging out with the guys, and I don't mind getting dirty. I play video games with my boyfriend all the time. However, I've become more aware over the years of my style and dress, and I spend a fair amount of time picking out clothes.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.

Didn't know this was a question of its own. Like stated before, I like having a plan. If a plan is well though out and sounds solid, I don't mind going along and doing as I'm told. Its often a relief not having to be responsible or feel the pressure. However, when a project is going to reflect my work ethic, I like having a measure of control. Often, I prefer working by myself just because I can count on myself to take it seriously.

5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time? I daydream alot about the stories I want to write. In my spare time, I play video games with my boyfriend, I read voraciously, and I knit. I like artistic pursuits, such as drawing and writing.

6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.

My ideal career would be a novelist. Writing is something I enjoy, and it would be a dream come true to dedicate my life to sharing that joy with others.

On a more realistic note, I'm not sure what my ideal career would be but I do know that I would want one with a more hands on approach. I wouldn't like working with computers all day at a desk job.

FF Questions:

7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.

Final Fantasy 9 was my favorite FF game, hands down. The main reason is because it was so light-hearted and happy and I just fell in love with all the characters. FF9 never took itself too seriously or had crazy convoluted plots, it was just an awesome game.

I'm really enjoying Final Fantasy 13, even if I think it takes itself far too seriously and has too many group pep talks. It was a nice blend of character types both weak and strong and the storyline was intersting.

8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

I absolutely loved Freya from FF9. So many tragic things happened to her and yet through it all she was an honorable and proud warrior. She grew a lot over the course of the story and had to find her own identity, one that wasn't dependent on the lover she lost. And despite the obvious melancholy that followed her, she was still a spitfire and never backed down from a fight.

I love Lightening from FF13 for similar reasons. She's very strong and isn't afraid to do what is necessary, even if others will quibble at the moral or ethical quandaries. However, what makes her most endearing is that she's flawed; she doesn't always make the right decisions and her goal-oriented attitude can cause more misunderstandings than problems. She's a perfect mix of fragility and rock hard strength.

Despite the fact that I've played almost all the FF games and I love many of the characters, I'm going to have to put Zidane from ff9 in my top 3. He's just so cute! He's happy and obnoxious and overly confident, and despite what he thinks he really sucks with women. But that doesn't bring Zidane down! His mix of street rat and awkward teenage boy make him my favorite FF leading man.

9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:

Garnet from FF9. She was sheltered princess and very ignorant of the real world, but she never felt entitled and was always eager to learn from her superiors or peers. She went from a weak girl to someone with internal strength.

I also really related to Yuffie from FF7. She was quirky and funny and troublesome, but all of it resulted from an earnest desire to see the home that she loved with honor again, and she wasn't going to give up on that dream for anyone or anything.

10) The FF game you liked playing least:

There isn't one so far that I've disliked, as I really love all the characters in the FF universe, but in terms of plot the one that really makes me think "what the?" is FF8. I absolutely adore Squall and his angstiness, but sometimes the direction of the plot left me confused. Perhaps that's because I haven't beaten it yet.

11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:

I kind of "disliked" Hope from FF13 (not really though). He was a whiny kid in the beginning who wanted to blame everyone else for his problems. What made him worse was when he turned into the "light of hope" for the group, and was always going on and on about hope and faith as if he hadn't spent the first 2/3rds of the game complaining there was no such thing. But then, I find Hope more hilarious than annoying, so its not really dislike so much as amusement.

12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):

God save the Queen. Beatrix from FF9 was such an awesome and strong female character, and I mean come on. The name just rocks.

13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):

Quezacotl (FF8), hands down. He was cool looking, his avatar was cool looking, and he was the thunder element, which is my favorite element. I like the avian summons the best because they are all sleek and curves.

14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):

Aura Blast from FFTactics games. It didn't matter if a rock was in the way, became BAM the enemy was going to die. In fact, I love all the Monk abilities in all the FF games, especially Chakra and Revive, because it was like using magic without mp.

15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:

Chocobo Hot-n-Cold from FF9. I spent soooooo much time doing that, and enjoyed every single second of it. *sigh*

16) Your favorite Cid:

Cid from FF10. His caustic, grumpy attitude was hilarious.

I'm torn between Thief, Monk, and White Mage, but I think I'm leaning towards Monk in the end. They're all hard-workers as well as open minded... and general low maintenance is a classic monk trait, considering how the Monks from the earlier games are based on... well, monks and seem to share many of their philosophies. Yet, your negative traits remind me more of the monks from later games. They're generally cheerful, some like being involved in deciding what's going on while others don't mind being given tasks, and they're often modest. While some are rather impulsive, others can be more reserved in their thought processes (i.e. Josef, Yang, Tifa, Ursula)... and, excluding Zell who is always energetic, the others in this type tend to switch between the two depending on the circumstance. I can also easily see them preferring jobs with a more hands-on approach.
