Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
1. Rational
I'm not someone who easily gets caught up in their emotions. When involved in a disagreement or a touchy situation, I think before I speak (most of the time), rather than just quickly reacting physically, which means arguments with me are usually pretty to the point and resolved quickly. I'm not easily angered/quick to see the worst in another's actions, and I try to consider other people's perspectives rather than get caught up in my own. I look for compromises rather than feeling someone has to think or feel the same way I do. I'm fairly chill, basically.

2. Intelligent
I like things that make you think! I'm really into old literature that's heavy on philosophy, and psychology was my intended major before I recently changed it. I like learning new concepts and ideas that are difficult at first, including things outside what naturally interests me the most (essentially, I like to learn just to learn, if that makes sense). I grasp academic subjects pretty quickly and usually don't have any problems explaining what I learn to others.

3. Sense of humor
I like to laugh and make other people laugh. I express my love in fandom by making fun of my favourite characters (you might want to keep this in mind for the second half of the app).

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
1. Very self-aware
I'm pretty much constantly checking myself to make sure I'm not being a huge embarrassment, which I usually assume than I am. I've got more anxiety than the average person and this results in me pretty much thinking everyone is always judging me even when I know 99% of the time, people aren't even paying attention to me in the first place.

2. A little hard to get to know
I'm not someone who quickly makes friends, because it usually takes me awhile to really warm up to a person. I like to thoroughly get to know a person before I start thinking of them in the 'friend' category, and I'm not really interested in multitasking my attention across a wide group of acquaintances who don't mean much to me. I keep a pretty small circle of friends who I'm very close to, as I value quality over quantity, but I think I can come off a little unapproachable to people who are meeting me for the first time sometimes. (I think this is a little misleading though? I really do like meeting new people, I'm just bad with being as immediately open with them as I am with my good friends)

3. Sometimes a perfectionist
Mostly with things I do creatively. I am my own worst enemy! I say this is a bad trait because it sucks a lot out of the fun out what should be fun activities, and there's no real 'off-switch' for it. I'm trying to get better about this especially.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain: I think the initial impression I make is mainly introverted in that I don't go out of my way to say hello to people, and am more of a listener than a talker in conversations. However, once I get to know a person, I definitely become more extroverted, which I do think is actually a little more true to myself.

Cheerful [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain: Uh, I'm not like, 'in your face' cheerful, but I am definitely more of a positive than negative person.

Leader [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Supportive
Explain: I can be either. I usually fall into a leader position because, at best, I'm ambitious when given a task that's important to me, and at the very least, concerned with getting the job done right. But, if I need to support someone else who wants to take charge, I have no problem whatsoever with it and do my best to be as helpful as possible.

Confident [ ] [ ] [X] [] [ ] Modest
Explain: While I do have the whole 'people probably think I suck' thing going on, it's usually followed by 'but I'm okay with it', so.

Reserved [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain: I definitely think things through first; I'll take a risk if it could work out for me well, but only after I've checked out my other options. I'd put this fully to the left, but if I'm with a friend, I can be persuaded to be a little more spontaneous.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Calm
Explain: What do I say for this one? I'm pretty mellow.

Feminine [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain: Not a fan of many feminine things, the one exception being 1980s shoujo manga♥ Otherwise my interests definitely fall more on the guy side, and I usually feel pretty awkward discussing specifically girly things. People who see my art tend to think I'm a dude half the time too, so I guess I'll count that as well.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.
Relating back to my answer for Leader/Supportive, I think when put in a team where positions are up for grabs, I naturally take a leader position and/or people just assume I'm going to be the one who is. I like to get things done quickly and effectively when I have to work with others (I prefer to do projects on my own) and am therefore usually the first person to be volunteering ideas or whatnot. Ideally I'd love for everyone to feel the same way, and that's why if this is true I'm just fine being a supporter, but it usually isn't and more often than not I have to pick up the slack for other people in a group. I don't really mind doing this and I do like to help other people, so long as it's not just expected of me to do other people's work.

5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?
Besides gaming, I like to draw a lot (fanart!), and I also love to read (old Russian literature is my favourite!)

6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.

1. Something with languages! Because I'm going into the foreign language field. I'm not picky how it's applied-- I love other languages and all the aspects of learning/applying them.

2. Something artistic. This is in an ideal world where I was less of a perfectionist, more productive, and more confident, but I love to draw and write and to just generally by creative. Something in character design would be great, I think the initial development end of things is what interests me in the most.

FF Questions:

7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.

Final Fantasy 4: MY GAME!!! It was one of the first games I ever had for my SNES. I rented it a few times and fell in love, and then pretty much forced my mom to drive me to a city an hour or so away where I could buy it (my little 7 year old self later bedazzled the cartridge with my name, so stoked to own it, it has sentimental value now and I still play it on the SNES when I can rather than any later ports♥). So many firsts! Cecil/Rosa was my first ship, Cecil was my first favourite character, the first time I drew fanart (lol copying Amano art from the manual). I've probably played it 20+ times over the years and all the characters are like old friends to me. I've bought every subsequent version that's been released, and am really delighted with how much love SE has been giving it and will continue to pay for the same thing multiple times, lol. I kind of died with joy when The After Years came out which I feel captures the original spirit of the game so well (a lot better than the DS remake :/ Wasn't too happy with the translation changes). Um, I could ramble about FF4 for forever and a day, it's just The Game I will never get tired of, that I have irrational love for, that has a ton of personal meaning to me.

Final Fantasy 6: I got into this one pretty late. After 4, I didn't come back to FF until 8. It was a friend who got me into it in 2006, but once I was into it, I was into it. Me and my roomate have 2-playered this game probably 3 or 4 times, got all characters to lvl 99 more than one time around, know the script by heart, etc. I've done a buttload of fanart for this one, it was the first FF I really started drawing for. I love Final Fantasy 6 for it's really great cast; it's one of the only ones I don't just have a few out of the bunch that I like, but instead like seriously everyone. Oh, another way to see how much I love FF6 is to check out my doujinshi collection for it on my old account (this is only half of it...)

Final Fantasy 8: I love Final Fantasy 8 because it's really, really ridiculous. When people say 'man, FF8 sucked because it made no sense' I am just like 'do you mean that's why it's awesome?' I love the plot that didn't even really try to be coherent for very long. I love how Squall's personality plays off such a whacky cast. I think people are too hard on said whacky cast because I think they're a pretty good depiction of how annoying teenagers can be. I definitely ship Squall/Rinoa pretty hard, and while I don't at all think it was a perfectly written romance, I think it had great potential.

I know it says only 3, but I have to also give a shoutout to the original NES FF2 (later remakes are good, but the original is where it's at). I adore that game so hard, have played multiple times, and only am not mentioning it as one of my top 3 because I don't have quite as much to say about why. I love it's characters/storyline/and horribly broken gameplay mechanics (hell yeah, punching myself in the face and leveling up my attributes for it).

8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

1. Cecil. Because he's fiiiiine Because I really enjoy the journey he goes through in FF4. I like how he starts out somewhat as a bad guy in the beginning, and how his path of redemption is a gradual process. He's someone who has doubts about himself but still does what needs to be done and doesn't complain about having to shoulder that kind of responsibility. He has these doubts up until the very end of the game when he can't decide whether to call Golbez brother or not. But he's also basically the rock for the rest of the group, which is an interesting mix. I think this really makes him stand apart from other FF heroes: he's not the antisocial guy, he's not outright happy-go-lucky, but he's somewhere in the middle and he feels more like a believable character to me for it. I thought this development was pretty impressive for being an early 16-bit game.
I'm not so much of a fan how he was depicted in Dissidia, which I felt kind of changed his characterization, and that being a lot of people's first impression of him makes me a little sad, but any Cecil is good Cecil to me, so I was still happy to see him included!

2. Squall. Again, because of how he develops along the course of the game, both in coming out of his shell, and in his interactions with Rinoa. The way he's so serious in contrast to his herp derp team mates is really my favourite, though.

3. Setzer. It's hard to pick one favourite from 6, but I think I gotta go with this guy. Such a cool dude!♥ I was really sad about what they did to him in Kingdom Hearts though and was really hoping for a Dissidia appearence to remedy it, alas. I love his design, his attitude, his backstory, and his at times ridiculous fighting style (aw yeah doin' pirouettes and throwing cards at you, and summoning my bunny in a hat to heal less effectively than Cure).

9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:
Bartz, because all I can think of to answer this with are jokes.

10) The FF game you liked playing least:
Final Fantasy 9. Haven't finished it all the way yet but nothing about it really clicked for me. Don't like it or dislike it, just meh!

11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:

1) Ashe. IMO, she did the whole ice queen gimmik the wrong way, which Celes and Lightning pulled off a lot better, being that she never really seemed to totally come around to her team mates and become a more likable character for it. I remember thinking her dropping ties with other characters at the end was pretty lame of her, although maybe I need to replay or missed something (why does your being a queen effect who you can hang out with? Previous FF's had royalty who had no issues with continuing to hang out with their low-class ghetto friends). Her outfit mechanics boggled my mind, was really not a fan of her character design.

2) Quistis. Just didn't like her personality much, didn't like playing as her in game, and I thought her whole relationship with Squall was handled oddly (CREEP CREEP CREEPIN' ON YOU oh no I guess I just wanted to be your big sister...wait wut?)

12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):
...Lionheart, because when you manage to get it in disc 1 it kicks ass? I've never really thought about it.

13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):
Can I count Lagomorph? Seriously that +30hp saved me from some real tough times at level 99. If not, Unicorn because I liked equipping it to Locke and Setzer and enjoying the inherent hilarity

14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):
Hmm, I enjoy Double/Triple/Dualcast spells because I really like rubbing in how much I'm about to utterly destroy my enemy.

15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:
Most of the FFIV DS games, but especially Cecil's Goblin Gauntlet because I was particularly untalented at it. I was two stylus-ing that with a vengeance, man, I'm surprised my touch screen is still in-tact.

16) Your favorite Cid:
FF4's! Such a BAMF.

17) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.
