Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)

-Warm? I basically love everyone I meet, and I take pleasure in making people feel special and that I've paid attention to them; even people I barely know, I think of them as special individuals. It's something I feel all the way through, to the point I usually completely miss anything less than what is fantastic about a person. Basically I idealize everyone, but someone has to do it, lol!

-I think I see the humor in everything. XD And sometimes make my own.

-Creative, I guess. I'm not sure if I can really claim that one, being surrounded by so many exceptionally creative people all the time, but I don't know what else to put there. XD

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.

-Impulsive. I wouldn't call it spontaneous; it just goes along with being easily confused by what I'm feeling at the second and letting that direct my actions. I never really think anything through.

-Noncommittal...or I guess you could call that indecisive (lol, an answer that speaks for itself). I give up on people, feelings, and ideas, pretty fast, with pretty minimal reasoning.

-I have lots of trouble with disagreements or conflicts, to the point I can get downright avoidant. If something gets resolved, you can bet it wasn't by my initiative. I'm easily hurt and confused by these things when they happen and lose any stable perception of how to resolve anything.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain: I like to mainly spend time by myself or just watch other people interact. That said, I like meeting new people all the time and I'm not necessarily shy about it, if more of a listener.

Cheerful [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain: i would say zactly in the middle, as I swoop from one extreme to the other, but it's only in times of extreme stress that i get "gloomy"....most of the time i'm upbeat!

Leader [ ] [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] Supportive
Explain: It depends...but as I despise making decisions and usually think the best of anyone i'm with, i'm more inclined to want to follow/support.

Confident [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Modest
Explain: Dehhh.... I have tons of confidence issues but I do like my measly contributions to things usually...

Reserved [ ] [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] Impulsive
Explain: Impulsive, but not in every given scenario. Only when i'm forced to make a decision, at which time I'll just do whatever without thinking - but in general I do have some restraint, lol.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Calm
Explain: I can be downright insufferable when it comes to something I really get excited about XD but otherwise I would more likely calmly support other people's energy and not get right into it myself.

Feminine [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain: I dunno. I'd like to say masculine/tomboyish, but that's because I have a huge appreciation for the masculine/tomboyish. XD Though I'm not really sure what qualifies one as feminine, I guess you could generally say that....I am more of that.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.

I prefer working by myself, although I would choose to be in a team to have more reason to be around people, since I like to watch their interactions. In a team setting I like for someone else to make decisions, as I usually feel they know what to do better than I would - I think my best contribution to a team would be in that I do tend to direct things if nobody is offering leadership first, and I would want to know everyone's thoughts on dealing with a topic.

5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?

I like to draw, write, watch television, and lay around in weird places. I'm sorry if that's not detailed enough, but it's honestly not something I find that interesting to talk about, lol.

6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.

Doing something to help the less fortunate! I'm not sure what exactly, but I always find the most happiness bringing happiness to others.

Maybe something like counseling, because I do like to help people realize how awesome they are :) Maybe that's better suited to motivational speaking, but I'm more of a listener/carer than a motivator.

FF Questions:

7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.

FF5...because I just really liked the cast, and the jokes <3 Older and therefore a little less developed in the character aspect than later FF games, but I also can appreciate a script that leaves room for expansion in the imagination, which is what I of course would go on to do with it :D the light-hearted almost goofiness to the script too won me; I like stories where the characters can be hilarious at the same time as they are epic XD Also Bartz was just one of my favorites, not really a fancy kinda guy but he could play the piano and is open to getting AND giving lap dances, what's not to love?

FF8 I just really was won by the gameplay and actually enjoyed junctioning lol. I liked all the cast characters, especially because some of them could seem so unlikable at times that you just had to love em (is this bias?). Also it had a solid sense of humor within itself/constant hilarity despite being fairly serious in theory. I was also just charmed by the more militant feel of the whole thing, oddly. Out of all the FFs, barring perhaps FF9, the environments and cities were the most interesting and memorable for me.

FF9; imho the very best FF, if not my personal top favorite for reasons of nostalgia. The cast was so tight to me, and I adored the subtleties of the relationships everywhere and the weight the narrative gave to every cast member, the consideration and kindness the writers obviously felt for each character -- so that even by the end, I wanted to give Kuja a big hug, too, lol. Besides that, the gameplay was just the most fun, as with the technical stuff, with the abilities-through-armor thing - I liked, too, the more traditionally fantasy-type world we were given after 7 and 8.

8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

Marcus (FFIX) He's not that exceptionally developed or even important, but he appeals to me in that he's pretty down to earth and not up to anything epic amidst a cast of otherwise massive drama; just on his humble quest across the world to restore his best bro, he's always had my heart.

Laguna...I loved him for being so silly! At any rate he was just a genuine nice guy, and I do like those characters <3

Butts, see above-- fun without being overly energetic, just a nice guy too? I think I see a theme here.

9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why: Lenna, because I always walk straight into dangerous situations like a derp. Quina, because HELL YEAH I eat all the time. Seifer, because I have a romantic dream. ;D

10) The FF game you liked playing least:
FFX, probably just because I really didn't like the battle system and I didn't exceptionally enjoy the cast either.

11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:
...Fratley for breaking my heart. :\ And also Freya was too good for him.
idk, I dont usually Dislike dislike characters. I kind of disliked original Cloud for being too much of a DIY character, though that's not his fault, it's the game itself's.

12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):
Lol, I loved the troll Impartisan and Excalipoor from VI.

13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):
I really loved summons in FF8 in general, just compared to their other game incarnations too; I think out of all in any game it's still a tie three from FF8--Quezacotl, Brothers, and Diablos. A good indication of where my prefs are geared; to the unique, to the hilarious, and [Wildcard]

14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):
I'm gonna come outta left field here and say Cecil's short-lived Dark Wave. Stuff's sexy.

15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:
Mognet >_> and I usually avoid minigames but Chocobo Hot n Cold/treasure hunting on the world map/all the sidequests in ff9 ate my life, along with the Selkie jumping game in the original Crystal Chronicles (HOURS on that)

16) Your favorite Cid:
FF9; He's hilarious and endearingly flawed! Cid from Chocobo Racing would be a close runner up though for feeling it was acceptable to give a chocobo a pair of jet shoes. Also FF2, for talkin' smack about other people's airships.

17) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.

I think you'd make an excellent White Mage! You're warm and love meeting people *and* making others feel special...which I think fits the White Mage class perfectly. The fact that you can see humor in a lot of things reminds me of White Mage characters like Prishe, Aria, Eiko, and Vanille too. I think many of the White Mage characters can come across as creative, some are very impulsive, indecisive, and tend to be the types of characters to avoid conflicts and disagreements. Many are more introverted in the listener sense, but not necessarily because they're shy (like Penelo or Garnet). Many are upbeat (but can be more of a middle ground overall), they're also more inclined to like being in supportive roles. They can be in-between confident/modest; impulsive depending on the scenario but not without restraint (Garnet, Sara, Rosa, Aerith, Hope); in-between energetic/calm depending on the circumstances. I think your answer to the team work question and even your ideal careers would fit many of the White Mage characters too. :)

~Yay, a fellow FFIX fan! ♥

I could see some Soldier, Dragoon, and Black Mage at times in your application (along with some Thief and Monk too--haha, you were quite hard to peg down to one job class! ♥)...but I think I'm going to agree with the above vote for White Mage. Many of your application answers just really reminded me of White Mage characters such as Eiko, Prishe, Penelo, Aria, Sara Altney, Vanille, Hope, Garnet, and Aerith. White Mage characters are often described as being warm, can be creative, and quite a few of them either appreciate or have a sense of humor too. They can also be impulsive at times, indecisive, and tend to prefer avoiding conflict and disagreements as well. They tend to be a bit more reserved in that sometimes they perhaps just prefer watching others and listening instead of talking all the time, but they tend to be pretty warm and open characters when it comes to meeting new people too...and there's usually an upbeat feel to their characters as well. White Mage characters are more inclined to be supportive figures in a group, are in-between modest and confident, can show restraint at times but can also be very impulsive, and are generally calm though some of them can get very energetic about things they are excited for. How you described working with teams and your ideal jobs just really had me thinking of White Mage characters as well! :D

I loved reading your FF thoughts, btw--especially on your favorite characters and who you relate too! ♥

I think you're a White Mage. You listed creativity as a strong point (which is a trait I associate with white mages for whatever reason), while in the same sentence humbly saying you can't make a claim to it (also white mage-y to me). Also, you love everyone... very white mage-y! I do see Monk as well (impulsive, likes everyone (I can see FF monks being that way), upbeat, between energetic and calm), but I think white mage is probably the best fit.

Also I think you might be the first or at least one of the few people I've seen that lists FFV as a favorite! That's cool. :)

I definitely see you as belonging in White Mage, heh. "Warm, humorous and creative" are traits that I feel describe the White Mages well. You have confidence issues - a lot of White Mages are shy but open up later - and prefer support to leading. But the thing that really sealed it for me was your dislike for conflict - many of them are peaceful characters who fight in order to end conflict and hurt.

You're pretty textbook White Mage to me, lol. Your very first line about wanting to make other people happy and always seeing the good in them decided it for me, and the rest of the app just reinforced that. Especially the fact that you dislike confrontation. Modest, supportive, creative, sweet...yeah. Very White Mage.

Also, FFIX love is always appreciated. <3

You seem so very light-hearted, but also incredibly difficult to classify. I would think this to be more of a case of which characteristics you don't share with other classes than which you do. Your answers to your personality flaws - especially that of impulsiveness and being noncommittal - make me lean toward either Thief or White Mage, but I think in the end I'd have to jump on the band-wagon and say you seem to be a White Mage. Describing yourself as a listener, mostly cheerful; you seem like you could find the good in anyone, even if it took a while to dig that deep.

I agree that you're kind of difficult to classify. Going from the Sorting Guide, I'd definitely say you have some Monk and Thief traits, but the overall feel of your application is most definitely White Mage.

Unstamped.

I can see a lot of Thief-like traits in you, but overall must agree with White Mage. I think the love everyone mentality combined with the desire to help others is what tips it over towards that end the most, as while there are thieves in the FF series like that (namely, Zidane), many of the others are more selfish, where as almost all of the white mages have similar views. They're also more introverted, upbeat, impulsive, many of them do have confidence issues, and quite a few do have some type of creativity.

Team Monk

[identity profile] freijya.livejournal.com 2011-03-30 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I saw a bit of thief in your impulsiveness, a bit of monk in your desire to work alone and in your giving nature (you remind me of Tifa alot) but overall I think I'm going to have to say White Mage. Being warm, empathetic and friendly with people is pretty much a White mage given, but being quiet and reserved is also a very common trait, such as with Yuna and Garnet.

[identity profile] arivess.livejournal.com 2011-03-30 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I have to agree with white mage. A lot of what you said made you hard to place, since your personality seemed a bit all over the place - not necessarily in a bad way - but the one thread I saw in most of it was you really liked helping people, and you aimed to do it for your future. That, to me, is a very whitemagey thing. Plus, you seem pretty accepting of everything, and you don't seem to dislike much.

When I started reading your application, I immediately thought of White Mage. How you described yuorself reminded me of many white mage characters, and you mentioned you're warm, you seem to like people in general have a genuine care about others, something I usually associate with white mages.
