How did you find out about this community? (Specify usernames if you remember them.)
Mako_Lies referred to it often in our conversations.

Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
Loyal - Once you are my friend I am yours forever.
Good Listener - People always come to me with their problems. I may not always have a solution, but that isn't always what people want or need. They just need someone to listen to them. That is me!
Calm - In my group, a very energetic bunch, I create balance. I don't see the point of getting so riled up that you can't be aware of what is going on around you. Besides when I'm not calm then I'm stressing and turn into an unpleasant person.

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
Procrastination - My parents are always getting on my tail about this. If a thing doesn't strike my fancy, then I don't put as much effort as perhaps I should. Chores come last on my list of things to do.
A tad selfish - Again, something has to interest me before I will put any work into it. This goes with everything I do. I do lots of things for others, but only because that makes me feel good (well not only, but it's my ulterior motive.)
Bossy - If you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing then I want you to stop and if you don't then you'll feel my rage. It frustrates the hell out of me when people break rules and things don't go the way I perceive they are supposed to go.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [ x ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain:
For the most part what you see is what you get, but that's not everything. If you manage to get into my heart then I'll give you more then just hints.

Cheerful [ ] [ ] [ x ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain:
I'm not Cheerful, but not Gloomy. I am serious and calm. It's not often that I'm high on life, but at the same time I don't have that aura of "Oh my god, the sky is going to fall on my head, so I obviously can't be good or happy."

Reserved [ ] [ ] [ x ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain:
I can't really decide either way. It depends on my mood.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [ ] [ x ] [ ] Calm
Explain:
I have my moments of energy, but I prefer to sit back and listen. There is so much joy to take from just watching. Still... I've got the energy when I need it.

Feminine [ ] [ x ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain:
I like dresses and make-up, but I don't spruce myself up everyday. I like pretty things and long hair, but why be completely obsessive about it.

Grudge-holding [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ x ] Forgiving
Explain:
What is the point of holding a grudge? I like my own peace of  mind to much to give others the pleasure of riling me up that much. Forgive and forget. To a degree.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.
I like to be in charge, but I don't mind being given orders. There are pros and cons to it both ways. As a boss, I want things done right and definitely understand the pressure that goes along with it. With great power comes great responsibility. As a follower I have no problem being given guidelines and rules, its my fellow followers that piss me off. If they aren't dedicated to the project and just want to goof off then I want nothing to do with them. Considering this, I work better alone or with people equally dedicated.

5) Spider-Man Decision: If you had to choose between saving two dozen innocent children and saving your best friend/significant other/person closest to you, which would you pick and why?
That would be a hard choice. Can't I be Superman and save them all? :( If I absolutely had to choose then it would be the kids. My best friend would shun me for the rest of our lives if I chose her. Besides how could I condemn a bunch of kids to doom and death?

6) Your friend has had their feelings hurt and comes to you for consolation. What do you do? Let's say, two days later they come to you again still upset over the same issue. What would you do in that case?
I listen and try to get both side of the story in case they ask for advice. Then I give them the best answer I can. If they come back I listen then, depending on if the situation has changed at all or not, I either rinse and repeat, or tell them to get over it.

7) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?
I like playing video games, reading fanfiction, looking for new auditions, and RPing. I wrestle, or at least I did and I still consider that to be my sport.

8) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.
Directing. I prefer to guide others to their goals rather than actually act. Acting is fun, but there is so much joy to see your actors change. Again I like to watch other people and be a boss. I have directed a lot and intend to pursue directing as my profession. But it would be cool to be a superhero. I don't think that's possible.

FF Questions:

9) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.
FFVII - First FF fandom, to put it simply. I liked the badassery that was Tifa's character and the story, though the graphics were... sad.
FFXII - First FF Fandom to hold my attention for longer than a year. With 7 I got tired of bullshit and the Cloud/Tifa vs. Cloud/Aerith. There was too much hate to hold my attention. The story was complex and showed us that the series was growing up with it's gamers. There were a lot of hints at adult concepts that you could catch easily, but my brothe,r who's 9 and trys to play every once in a while, is safe from it.
FFXIII - Okay, so it was like watching a movie, but the characters were so real! You could feel their struggles and as far as RP it's held my attention the longest. The fics aren't diverse enough, but it's a new game and the fandom is growing.

10) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:
This is hard. I love Final Fantasy because of the characters, because of their depth. At the moment:
Tifa - She is strong, despite her weakness for Cloud, but does love not weaken us all and she was young in 7, growing. Aerith was her best friend, that much was obvious, and that friendship opened her eyes. Tifa was a strong, female melee/tank character, one of the first. Despite the fact that she was ridiculously proportioned ( I know from experience that moving with that big of a chest is very difficult and not possible with that small of a waist.) but that was fixed with Advent Children. Tifa was a woman, at the very base of all things. A woman trying to find herself.
BALTHIER - Oh my god he is awesome. It may be the accent, but his whole search for that something inside him that is greater than his heritage intrigues me. I have so many writing and fic ideas for him, it's crazy. I wrote a cool one... it's somewhere on one of my many flashdrives. He makes me cry. (Thats a good thing because it means I connect with his character.) Besides who doesn't love "the leading man"? Anyone who has any sort of hatred for him might have a good reason, but not one I will stomach well. He was a character with a lot of depth.
Vanille - I don't understand why she is so hated. She is the girl who is scared of the big bad scary things that she is going to cause. Of course she is going to run away, but her internal struggle and her growth is what draws me too her. That and she makes a great narrator.

11) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:
Balthier - His self-hatred is the mirror image of my own. His search for that someting more is a reflection of mine.
Tifa - Above everything, she is a woman with a woman's heart and a mothers protective instinct. She and I are very similar in that. Plus our chest size is the same, unfortunately.
Quistis - Ice Queen. Bitch. Those are words used to describe her and myself by people who don't know or understand. Under it all there is a person there with feelings that can get hurt just as much as the next person. Plus I would love to have her figure.

12) The FF game you liked playing least:
FFVIII - sorry I liked the characters, but not enough thought was put into them or the story. Square Enix failed in that game. The Drawing system killed any want to play past 7 hours.

13) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:
Rinoa - Cool concept and when it comes to fic and RP I do a much better job than Square Enix did. Rinoa wasn't a woman in 8, she was a possesion, a prize to win. Plus, "You will love me. You will love me. Did it work?" NO IT DIDN'T SO SQUALL DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT IT DOES. Sorry. Their epic fail makes me epically upset. There was potential, but no effort.

14) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):
Save The Queen - Both Quistis's Whip and Ashe's Sword
. Yes it is Ashe's. Think about it. It's thin and it looks best with her using it. Plus I enjoy the idea that the Queen in saving herself because that is Ashe's mentality all the way. Does Ashe belong on my Fav Charrie list? Obviously. Mostly I like the name and the connotations behind it all. Quistis was a queen too you know, an Ice Queen.

15) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):
Shiva. FFX was the first FF I ever played and Shiva blew my mind away. She saved me from the evil death kitties more times than I can count, not to mention she was beautiful and was the most useful summon of that entire game (if you didn't want to waste items on leveling your Aeons).

16) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):
Cure. Seriously? It was the most used, most helpful thing ever. Can an dispute that?

17) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:
FFX-2... Digging. Yes. I spent a lot of time doing that. And getting 100% on that stupid addictive game.

18) Your favorite Cid:
Aww! Come on guys... Okay... Cid Bunansa hands down.

19) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.
Soldier. I don't like to fight. I avoid conflict with others whenever possible.

You sound like a just-about-perfect White Mage to me - gentle, level-headed, forgiving, the best friend you can be. You don't deny that the fact that being a good person feels good is why you do it, but you do also seem pretty bighearted and you also say yourself that you don't like confrontation - healing and assisting teammates would probably suit you much better than fighting. You also like to be in control of things and white magic is still magic - using it would give you a hold of things other people couldn't manipulate. It also feels like a very practical and feminine class overall, and you love the reliability and usefulness of plain and simple mainstay Cure spells.

I think I could also see aspects of a Monk, but White Mage wins by far.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I'm getting such a strong monk vibe from you, I don't even know how to justify it. It's the gut telling that jumps out of the page from me.

You are calm, principled, strong; you can put up a fight when it has to happen but you would rather solve problems peacefully. You wrestle.

You are a monk.

And I'm a winner at stating my own class

I am not sure what are you trying to do but do you need help with something? If you're trying to update a sigtag uploaded onto lj album, you must make sure it's set on public, not private. I think images set on private won't show up. If it's not that then I am sorry, If you need any help you can PM me.

Hmm, I'm torn Black Mage and Thief. I'm afraid I may be biased since when I read your FF thoughts my mind went "Awesome, I completely agree~ Especially in regards to Balthier and Rinoa" ... but, I truly do think Black Mage is what is standing out to me the most. (Aside from the peaceful, forgiving soldiers like Cecil and Ramza who don't like to fight either.)

Many are deathly loyal to their friends, many like Lulu are good listeners, and they often play the role of the calm one in the group. (Especially in comparison to the energetic thieves and monks) They can be a bit bossy, as well as a little selfish. (Shantotto, anyone?) They can also both lead and follow and your reasons for relating to the characters you pick fit quite well. (Red mages also count in that group here, and Celes shares the self-hatred to an extent, and there's the whole "motherly instinct brigade" of Terra, Edea, and Lulu.)

I don't know why but I feel a strong Dragoon vibe from your application. I could see some pf the other classes as well (particularly black mage and monk) but overall I felt that you're more of a Dragoon.

Dragoons are calm in the face of danger, fiercely loyal, and good listeners but they can be selfish and a little lazy *coughCidcough*. The dragoons Kain, Freya, and Cid particularly come to mind when I read your application. You're calm and a good listener like Freya and you aren't afraid to tell things as they are. You're not afraid to lead when the situation arises, just like Cid did when Cloud went into a coma. You prefer to work alone when you're not comfortable with your team just like Kain. You're also a tad bossy like Fang and Cid but that's because you have a goal to accomplish.

Also I totally agree with your FF related answers! Balthier and his pants is such a smooth and witty character...*phew* I swear XII gets so much hate because it's mostly about politics and the battle system was supposedly confusing but XII is actually one of my top 3 ff games.

I can see a bit of Dragoon and Black Mage as well in some of your answers, but my first impression was White Mage. And I swear it's not only because you favorite spell is Cure but also because you mentioned you're loyal, a good listener and calm, serious, feminine and forgiving so you really remind me a lot of characters like Rosa and Yuna.

I was actually going to vote Soldier before I got to your Optional answer! XD Hehe, but keeping that in mind: I'm torn between the two Mage classes for you and Thief! I keep going back-and-forth between the three of them, but I think I'm leaning the most towards White Mage in the end. Your best/worst traits remind me a lot of White Mage characters such as Vanille, Aerith, or Penelo: loyal, good listener, calm, procrastination, a tad selfish, bossy. A few of the White Mage characters can fall into the introverted category (Yuna, Garnet, Aerith in Crisis Core), some aren't cheerful *or* gloomy (Rosa, Minwu), depending on their mood they can be either reserved or impulsive (Aria, Garnet, Penelo), many have energetic moments but they're also pretty calm overall (Yuna), and most of them are forgiving! I also think they're probably one of the more feminine of the job classes (with the exceptions of characters like Minwu, Alus, and Hope, obviously!).

Your team answer can be fitting for a few of the White Mage characters as I can see a White Mage like Minwu feeling the exact same way (although, I admit it was one of the reasons I was also thinking of Black Mage and Thief for you!). Ultimately, your Spider-Man decision makes me think more of the White Mage class overall...and I think your consoling a friend answer fits well for them too! Besides, you mentioned Cure as your favorite spell (which is kind of the base for the White Mage class!). XD

~FFVII was my first FF fandom too...and yay for FFXII love and FFXIII character love! Gah, I loved what you said about Tifa...and Balthier and Vanille are awesome characters as well! ♥

Soldier

[identity profile] tjemd4.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Like Breyzy, I was going to vote Soldier before seeing your answer to 19, but I alternated between that and Dragoon.

You are strong-willed, dedicated to causes in which you find value, and expect others to be on par with you if you're to cooperate with them.

You also mention generally maintaining a calm aloofness (i.e, "ice queen").

Finally, you have Fang in your icon. XD 'nough said.

[identity profile] virago-queen.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Ehhh...you're a toughie, lol, as should be obvious by the crazy vote spread. I was waffling a lot between the Mage classes. Selfishness and bossiness are something I associate with Black Mages most often, but your forgiving nature and answer to the Spiderman decision make me think White Mage...most of the mages are loyal, relatively calm, and good listeners...so I think it's your leadership question that is tipping me over into the realm of Black Mage. You do remind me a bit of the more maternal characters in our team's portfolio, and you give off a more mature/level-headed aura than the WMs (who I normally associate with a certain level of dreaminess/naivety).

[personal profile] chacusha 2011-07-04 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Like [livejournal.com profile] tjemd4, I mainly was alternating between Soldier and Dragoon (but I can see some a bit of all the other classes people have mentioned so far too).

Your positive traits makes me think of a Dragoon like Kimahri -- calm, good listener, very loyal. Your dichotomies seemed leaning toward a more low-key personality, like a Black Mage, Soldier, Dragoon, or White Mage. Your answer to the leadership question definitely makes me think of a Soldier type -- you like to lead but you're okay with rules and guidelines.

I can also definitely see a Soldier feeling the need to save the children, especially if their best friend would shun them if they didn't. Finally, you said you relate to the Ice Queen type, which could fit certain Soldier, Dragoons, and Black Mages.

Overall, you reminded me a bit of Ashe and Squall in places, who I think of as Soldier types, so I'm going to have to go with Soldier, despite the answer you gave to the last question. Might change my vote later, but I'll stick with that for now.

[identity profile] hilian.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
At first I was thinking Soldier, then white mage but in the end I think Dragoon is rally a good fit. You describe yourself as loyal, calm, bossy, good listener, traits I think can fit both Dragoon and Soldier but somehow I'm getting a strong Dragoon vibe from you. Even if you remind me a lot of characters like Ashe and Beatrix ( because they both have moments of energy, but are usually more calm and prefer to sit back and listen ) and I can picture Ashe saying something like " It frustrates the hell out of me when people break rules and things don't go the way I perceive they are supposed to go." your positive and negative traits make me think Dragoon is the best fit.Your personality, your answers to the "rate yourself" section and your idea of team work, fit for many Dragoons, like Kimahri and Fang, so I think Dragoon is a nice fit.

Image (http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c227/ElGenio1/banner%20FF/?action=view&current=surmiseanna.png)

[identity profile] breyzyyin.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...I can see a lot of job classes in your answers--and I really was debating quite a bit between the two Mage classes, Monks, Dragoons, and Soldiers especially for reasons everyone else has explained pretty well in their votes. It's more or less between either Dragoon or Soldier for me, and I'm hesitant to vote Soldier simply because of how you mentioned not thinking it like it fit you perfectly. Actually, I think I was leaning the most between either a White Mage or Dragoon vote once I had decided against Soldier due to that last question...but, I think I'm leaning slightly more towards Dragoon in the end. Considering how many of the Dragoons do have leadership roles and tend to find a lot of fulfillment in them even when they themselves are just directing others (Kain, Ricard, Cid Highwind, and Kimahri in particular)...I could see them relating to your ideal career question as well.

Most of the Dragoons in the series (Kain, Ricard, Freya, Cid Highwind, Fang, Kimahri) are considered very loyal. Kain, Ricard, Freya, Fang, and Kimahri all have rather calm moments to their personalities...and they can be excellent listeners too. They can sometimes act a bit selfishly at times (Kain in a few instances of FFIV, Cid at moments in FFVII, Fang at parts of FFXIII)...but it is usually due to perhaps wanting to have interest in something they are planning to take part in. As many of them are leaders to an extent or have authority over others at times, they can be a bit bossy too with how they want things to be done--especially if they feel someone isn't handling things correctly.

I can see a lot of Dragoons having a "you see is what you get" mentality about themselves...at least to an extent, but they're more than willing to open up at least a little bit more if they feel someone has gotten close enough to them (Fang to Vanille, Kimahri to Yuna). They also tend to be more in-between cheerful and gloomy as well--not leaning towards either extreme. Quite a few Dragoons (Kain, Kimahri, Freya, Ricard) can be reserved or impulsive depending on their mood at a given time. They can be somewhat energetic, but many Dragoons also just like to sit back and watch as well and find joy in observing (Freya is probably the best example of a Dragoon who has energy when she needs it, but likes being calm and observant otherwise...as is Fang). They're also a bit more forgiving/understanding of others at times: at least to a certain degree...aside from Cid, most of the Dragoons don't really seem to hold too much of a grudge unless an offense is something they find morally unforgivable or reprehensible (such as wiping out an entire village or something).

I could picture many Dragoons handling the group work question in a similar vein to your response to it, and I could imagine at least half of the Dragoon characters to also perhaps respond to the Spider-Man question in a similar way as well (Ricard, Kimahri, and Freya being prime examples of this). Your answer to the comforting a friend scenario also reminds me of several of the Dragoons and their interactions with friends/teammates as well. :D

I LOVED your answers to the FF section, by the way! So many great games and characters. ♥

As much as I can understand where White Mage/Monk/Dragoon/and heck, even Soldier votes are coming from, I'm going to go with Black Mage.

The reason I'm going with this is because despite feeling vibes from the other groups, I think ultimately, you show yourself as a black mage. I especially got this feeling with the "Ice Queen" mention of Quistis, as I feel that certain Black Mages have this trait down (Lulu - FFX comes to mind right away) Also, you're very neutral in your personality, although the one trait that stood out to me was taking charge. Wanting to be a leader. Not minding having control. Good listener. Helpful, in a wise way. Calm. Those traits all just scream Black Mage to me, personally. ^^

I think you're a Black Mage. The beginning of your application brought Lulu to my mind and though it strayed from there quite fast, Black Mage still wins out over other classes to me. Calm, loyal, feminine, maternal, not afraid of taking charge, yeah I'd say that's pretty blackmageish.

I see Dragoon, Solder and White Mage in you, but White Mage stands out the most. You're calm, perceptive, understanding and I like how you see beyond how FF characters are portrayed and into their back stories as well! ♥ Your answers to #3 are what convinced me most: I have my moments of energy, but I prefer to sit back and listen. There is so much joy to take from just watching. I can imagine many White Mages saying this. (:

Also hooray! for Shiva and Quistis love! ♥

I'm seeing a White Mage here first and foremost: dutiful and conflict-avoiding, with a willingness to forgive and forget. Many White Mages do feel the weight of responsibility, somewhat - I'm thinking of Garnet and Yuna here, for example. I think the way you prefer to watch and appreciate the world around you also reminds me most of White Mages.

As a mod I have to break your tie since I haven't voted yet. I hope you won't hate me for it, lol. I can definitely see both Black and White Mage in you. You seem like someone peaceful just like White Mages but at the same time you seem to be someone intelligent with thier own opinions on many matters (well I assume it based on how you explain why you like or dislike characters/games etc) which reminds me of that other class. In the end I think I see a bit more Black Mage. For some reason, when I was reading your answers, you just seemed like a Black Mage to me. They are not as peaceful as White Mages but they are not the first ones to get into a combat either. They are usually strong and calm, rational and wouldn't fight without a reason (which makes me think of "I avoid conflict with others whenever possible."). You are not cheerful or not are you too introverted or gloomy like that Dragoons or Soldiers are, in my opinion. I think you have quite balanced personality that reminds me most of black mages!
