Application

The Basics:

Name: Diana
Age: 22
Location: Portugal
Occupation: Free artist
How did you find out about this community? (Specify usernames if you remember them.) I pretty much saw this community through breyzyyin's journal and several advertisements

Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
Brave: Brave but not foolish pardon me. Well this is a trait that i didn't find in myself that much until a few days ago. I am not afraid to risk myself to do something that i know that it's right and it's something that needs to be done, eve if it harms myself i'll do my best and i won't regret it
Kind: It's part of who i am, i learned how to be kind from my mother and i guess that i treat other people the same way i want to be treated, with kindness, i think that the world doesn't need more cruelty than it already has so i try to be the best i can
Supportive: Either in the way of listening or the way of acting, i support others through their problems or their needs. I don't really know how to ellaborate more because i act this way depending on what others might need but i'm always here for them~

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
Stubborn: I have this horrible thick head at times, if i have an idea stuck in my head then be careful because i am going to be the worst ever until i get things done, also in arguments i might turn out to be a pain in the back because i defend my point of view and i don't change it no matter what, yeah call me thick head *laughs*
Defensive: I guess it comes with my past too, i get pretty defensive around people (defensive about myself) i don't like them to come too close nor i like to feel that my personal space is being invaded so i might turn on the defensive mode and try to dodge people if i don't feel very comfortable with them
Lonely: I've grown a little isolated from others because of being socially awkward and because others kind of excluded me for being different from them, so i kind of grew up being more of a loner more in contact with animals

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain: I'm so so, to be honest i can't say that i'm 100% extroverted or introverted mostly because it depends on the situations and on the people around me, i am usually quite introverted around others that i don't know or that have a certain view of how i am that doesn't really apply or i can be extroverted, it's pretty much half half situation for me...

Cheerful [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain: I can say without a doubt that i'm cheerful, sure i don't have that many reasons to be cheerful but i like to see the bright side of things and well being cheerful helps me quite a bit to get through the days :)

Reserved [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain: I'm highly reserved, i don't really know how to explain this, sure everyone has their impulsive side but i am highly reserved about myself and about the things that really matter the most to me

Energetic [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Calm
Explain: I dunno, online i might come off as a silly energetic kind of girl but in real life i am more low energy hitting the calm button since i personally don't have much physical resistence

Feminine [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain: A few years ago i'd have chosen the masculine/tomboyish option *laughs* but nowadays i'm so girly that it hurts

Grudge-holding [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Forgiving
Explain: Personally i was never someone to hold a grudge against anyone, even if the person might hurt me to no tomorrow i don't hold grudges, sure i get hurt and it takes me a little time but i'll end up forgiving the person and move on

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.I am not really usued to work in teams, i mean i like the concept but i never really had the chance to do so, i think that i'd let others make decisions and then i'd give my opinion on the subject or it depends on the people i am working with, i can either take the lead or be a follower

5) Spider-Man Decision: If you had to choose between saving two dozen innocent children and saving your best friend/significant other/person closest to you, which would you pick and why?....This question seriously wants to burn my brain's fuse....Well....I'd try to turn superman and save both sides, i mean, sure i want to save the innocent children but i can't just pick between them and my beloved ones, that's like choosing to be killed or killing someone, it's just too difficult

6) Your friend has had their feelings hurt and comes to you for consolation. What do you do? Let's say, two days later they come to you again still upset over the same issue. What would you do in that case?Well i'd ask to my friend what had happened for them to feel hurt and i'd hear them out and in the end i'd try to give my best advice based on well what i know and how the person is, if after a while they'd still be upset i'd try to make them see that it's not worth it remaining depressed and hurt over things because life is just that way, it tosses things at us and it's up to you to choose to dodge or to get hit, i'd just be supportive i think

7) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?Right now? i spend my life taking care of my baby dog, taking him for walks and playing with him slash taking care of the house....but how i like to spend my time? Playing video games, going to the beach, drawing, reading, watching tv, it all depends on the days themselves, at times i feel too lazy to do anything

8) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.Hm...let's see...Actress would be one that inspires me, in theather ways thou, not cinema wise...I dunno, i think that after rethinking about my life, i find the life of an actress quite exciting, to have such personality that you can handle several different personalities incarnated, it's just amazing, i wish that one day i'll be able to do something of the kind, to get off my own skin and be someone else

Psycologist. As someone that actually goes to one, i find the subject quite interesting, to study the minds of others and to know how the human society works deep down, it's fascinating, i see my psycologist talking to me and i just feel at awe with the way he analyses things, makes me want to try to do something of that kind

FF Questions:

9) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.My absolute number 1 favourite will always be Final Fantasy VI, it was my first final fantasy, it has an endearing interesting and badass story which will always amaze me and makes me want to replay the game over and over again, i love EVERYTHING in it, from the musics to the characters, heck even the villains make me sparkly!
Final Fantasy X, again it wasn't my favourite final fantasy to start with but after a while it won a special place in my heart, from the musics to the story itself it attracted me like a moth to the flame, it's a really beautiful game with beautiful settings, characters, voices and everything!
Final Fantasy XII, heck it's not one of the most liked ones but i LOVED IT, like no tomorrow, i loved the battle system, i liked how the story isn't the usual one, how nothing is that usual except well for the moogles 8D, it's really awesome, i mean, sky pirates much?!
(this naturally excluding Kingdom Hearts because then i'd never finish this entry....)

10) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:er....female i'd say Yuna, Celes and Aeris, for the male side, Tidus, Locke and Cloud. Why? Yuna for starters is the character i feel most close to in terms of personality, not to mention that she is an incredible well built character, also her design is quite appealing to me, a natural japanese fangirl *sweatdrop* Celes was my first final fantasy fav girl, she just wows me and makes me laugh and cry with her, back to the days i played this game i felt really close to her in terms of her defensive attitude and how she tried to stay away from more feminine attires *laughs* she is an incredible fighter and it amazed me that she is such a strong woman in a video game. Aeris, she won a dear place in my heart with her kindness, her simplicity and the feeling of peace that she transmits me, she is pretty much a role model for me in some aspects

As for the male side, Tidus and Locke share a bit of traits, the humour the WHAT THE HELL (mind me this is the only way i can explain their reactions o_o) kind of attitude and they are two of the sweetest male characters in Final Fantasy, sure they both have their emo side but they have reasons for that and when characters are built with a huge past like these three are, they kinda end up having a piece of my heart <3 for Cloud, dunno, i've liked him as far as i can remember liking final fantasy, not that i find the game GREAT or anything but Cloud really hits me, his personality makes me want to pet him and bring him home

11) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why: Yuna: Like i said in the previous one, she's the final fantasy girl that i relate the most to, perhaps because we've both been through a lot and we both feel a bit of the weight of the world on our shoulders and perhaps because we both try to be the best person we can be, i dunno, i always had this feeling about her even when i disliked her
Naminé: AH! Kingdom Hearts related *coughs* She's the character in the video games realm that i identify the most with, we're both introverted characters but that intervene, we don't just stand in our corner doing nothing while the world goes on, we just try to fix what we broke or what others broke, it's pretty much on those lines that i identify a lot with her....

12) The FF game you liked playing least: Hm to be honest i didnt like FFIV that much....My brother adored it but to me it's a little indiferent

13) One to three FF characters you dislike and why: The character i dislike the most it has to be Sephiroth...To me he's a bit of a cliché character mixed with a spoiled brat, sure he found out his mother was a monster but does that mean he has to turn into a psycho and want to kill everything and obsess over chocobo head Cloud? I dunno, to me he was always so overrated i always rooled my eyes everytime i saw him....

14) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities): Gunblade oh my goodness, my favourite weapon EVER

15) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.): Hm...Odin actually is my favourite alongside with Shiva

16) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.): Steal *thumbs up* that and i love Holy and Ultima

17) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:Actually i only went for the FFXII's side quests the rest like Blitzball i didnt even bother...

18) Your favorite Cid: FFIV, i take my hat out that guy made me laugh like there's no tomorrow

19) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why. Well maybe the monk class, perhaps because i do not do that well with physical attacks well direct at least, if i have a weapon i think i can do good but in terms of being a monk or not, i think that it's a type of class that requires some physical strength not to mention resistence which is something i don't really have...

Unstamped

[identity profile] scytheweasel.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I saw bits and pieces of almost all of the classes, mostly Monk, Thief, and White Mage, and actually started leaning towards Monk for the fact that you seem to be introspective, practical, and honest and describe yourself as stubborn and largely to yourself, but you say a Monk's status as a raw physical fighter isn't you, so I think I'll say Thief. While it seems like Thief characters tend to be on the less-reserved, extroverted side, the class also seems like it would go hand in hand with being street-smart and used to seeing things through positively and taking care of oneself, while it's a physical class its way of fighting should be inherently be more clever and less straightforward, and for some reason interest being an actress and your reasons for interest in psychology seem to check out for a Thief as well.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Your positive and negative traits made me think that, man, we have another Paladin here. Of course, as Paladin isn't an actual class in this game I had to decide between White Mage, Soldier and Dragoon.

Soldier was out quite quickly, as it seems that the caring and supporting element of your personality is so strong, I can't see a class that isn't centered to it can be suitable. So it was either a White Mage or a Dragoon.

Your optional answer was the one that cemented it for me. White Mage that is! A less physical, more mental side of character with the sensitivity and kindness as your central element.

I am embarrassed by myself. EMBARRASSED I SAY

Hmm, honestly, I hate to feel like a troll, but I'm going with No Vote on this one. Saying no monk due to physical attacks eliminates... well, all of the classes except mages since they all use physical attacks otherwise. This application also has a different approach to it than I've seen you take elsewhere (especially since some of you listed seem... the opposite from previously in that regard), so I get that you may be trying a little too hard for White Mage, especially since you went with Yuna instead of non-assigned Serah this time.

/is a Black Mage, but I don't think I get points for a no vote, so. DX

[identity profile] the-404-error.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, if that truly is the case, then I'm sorry. Mentioning physical reasons does sort of limit it to only two choices, though.

I do seem to remember your name was even "The Pink Lady Serah" for awhile and you specifically mentioned associating with her several times elsewhere... If I'm mistaking you with someone else, I apologize. (After reading a million rating apps, I'd be a bit surprised if I was though... XD /massive brain failure?) I take it you finally finished FFX at least? Congrats on finishing it~! Glad you enjoyed it!

[identity profile] the-404-error.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, that may be true, but I mentioned that because this is based around personality rather than physique? ;X I'm not a barely-visible dark shadowy-thing behind a tall hat and robes, but being sent where I am didn't bother me at all. *shrugs*

For the record: In general, one of the main reasons I'm going with a no vote is due to how the way you conduct yourself seems very different from how you tend to describe yourself. Perhaps it is not fair to judge by your actions elsewhere, but because of that it does come across as "pushy," as well as fairly worrying considering the nature of those actions.

[identity profile] haryan.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
I can see a lot of White Mage in your answers. I think this class fits your strengths and weaknesses nicely (brave, kind, supportive, defensive.. you really remind me a lot of characters like Rosa, Yuna and Garnet :D) Plus you mentioned you're usually calm, feminine, forgiving and resereved for the most part, traits that remind me of this class. I can see a bit of Thief, but then you mentioned you're reserved and you're not used to work in teams so I think that White mage is a better fit for you.

My absolute number 1 favourite will always be Final Fantasy VI
I adore FFX and FFVI too ! Locke and Celes are such neat characters :D

I can definitely see Thief and White Mage for you at parts of your application...but, I think I'm leaning a little bit more towards White Mage overall! ♥ I'd go into character examples, but I think the best/worst traits you listed for yourself (brave, kind, supportive, stubborn, defensive, and lonely) could kind of be blanket traits for most of the characters that fall into the White Mage class. XD

Many of the White Mage characters are in-between introverted/extroverted (such as Penelo and Hope), are more cheerful overall (Aerith, Vanille), quite a few of them are reserved (Yuna, Garnet), many are calm (Minwu, Rosa), and very few of them are grudge-holding. With the exception of the few White Mage male characters such as Hope and Minwu, they're one of the more feminine job classes as well. :)

I think your answer to the teamwork question fits really well for White Mages in general. They can either take the lead or follow and seem to overall be okay with the *concept* of working in teams. I can definitely see most of the White Mage characters trying to be like Spider-Man and save both groups of people as well! Your answer to the consoling a friend question makes me think of most of the White Mage characters too.

~Plus, you mentioned liking Holy! ♥

Soldier

[identity profile] tjemd4.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I am receiving an overall in-between vibe: brave but introverted; responsible (i.e. "weight of the world") but indecisive ("but i can't just pick between them and my beloved ones, that's like choosing to be killed or killing"); and cheerful but reserved.

With that said, the greatest characteristic I'm seeing is an adaptive response to the situation, and my vote goes to Thief.

Your occupational preferences, stage actress and psychologist (particularly with respect to analyzing others), lend themselves to this as well.

This one was hard for me to sort. Some parts of it made me think Thief (positive traits a lot, cheerfulness, wanting to understand the world and fix things, etc.), some parts of it reminded me of a lone-wolf type Soldier (positive and negative traits, the dichotomies, answer to the Spider-man question), some parts made me think White Mage (kind, supportive, stubborn, but closed off and defensive at the same time, low-key personality), and I do see a bit of Monk (but not the exuberant type), since they tend to be brave, supportive, and cheerful, yet stubborn.

Overall, though, I think White Mage fits best.

[identity profile] hilian.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with the above votes for White Mage even if I can see Soldier as well in your application. Your positive and negative traits reminded me of many white mage characters like Yuna and Garnet, because I think many white mages are kind/fair and usually treat other the same way they want to be trated, are supportive, stubborn, not extremely extroverted but not really introverted either.

Thief and White Mage DO seem to be the job classes that I kept going back and forth for you on throughout this application! :D I think overall I'm leaning slightly more towards a White Mage vote. All of the adjectives that you used to describe yourself: brave, kind, supportive, lonely (considering a few White Mage characters such as Aerith from CC, Aria from FFIII, Garnet, and Eiko), defensive (Eiko, Yuna, Aerith, Refia), and stubborn.

Several White Mage characters can be pretty in-between either introverted or extroverted, leaning towards one side of the spectrum depending on situations. And many of them do tend to be rather cheerful/optimistic too. And they can be fairly reserved as well in terms of their mannerisms. And they can come across as either energetic or calm depending on circumstances too. White Mage characters also tend to not be too grudge-holding either.

How you responded to the group-work question reminds me a lot of the White Mage characters in the FF series as they tend to be more supportive figures in their groups and simply voice their opinion from time to time. And I could see quite a few White Mage characters wanting to save everyone if they could in the Spider-Man scenario question as well. How you answered the friend question also fit with many of the White Mages in the FF series to me. :)

I liked reading your answers to the FF section! ♥

I see Thief the most in this application. You seem quite chipper, cheerful, expressive, easily excited based on how you replied to some of the questions. Your favourite ability is steal, they also don't need as much physical strength as other classes (not that it matters in such sorting but...). I can also imagine characters like Rikku or Yuffie answering your weapon question in very similar way. While they are the ones who get easily excited, there are also thieves like, for example, Locke that are quite calm, honest, supportive, reserved, honest just like you described yourself. They are also quite brave and stubborn unlike most white mages. Your answer about saving people actually reminded me a lot of thieves too. I personally think they... are more fair? I believe everyone would have problems with picking a side, doesn't matter what class they are but the way you worded it made me think of some of the thieves in the series. I am not sure how to explain it differently.

Despite getting White Mage vibes at first, I'm going with Thief simply because even though you're quite supportive/kind with others that remind me of a White Mage, you're also very spirited, chipper, cheerful, and flat-out bubbly. You're like a ball of sunshine, which is honestly how I view the Thieves. Also, one of your jobs - an actress? For the excitement and fun? Definite thief. A White Mage wouldn't want that sort of attention or would be overwhelmed, I think. You seem very interested in excitement and adventure, whilst also staying true to yourself. Thief is the only way to go, for me. :)

I actually see a lot of Soldier in your application (quite many parts remind me of Lightning, especially the first two questions), but I think overall you're more of a White Mage.

Your strengths and weaknesses fit well with many White Mage characters (actually I can't really think of any who doesn't fit). Your forgiving nature too is more like a White Mage than a Soldier.

I can see parts of White Mage and Thief but I have to go with Thief.

Your indecision in the Superman question reminds me of Thieves and while many of the traits you mentioned are pretty characteristic of White Mages, they are typical of Thieves as well. There's a slight cheeriness in the app that I associate with Thieves! The high reservation reminds me a lot of how secretive Thieves can be sometimes, especially to people they don't know (E.g. Yuffie, Locke)

I totally get the White Mage feel from your app. Forgiving, always seeking the bright side, calmn, brave, kind, supportive, stubborn: I see all of these as being really good white mage traits.

Monk

[identity profile] silvertigerx.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I get an overall feeling of Thief from you, and it just works out that you'd be able to use your favorite activity too, if that was the case. As far as physical strength is concerned, thieves aren't generally heavy hitters, so no worries about that. They can be both introverted and extroverted, more cheerful, and might have your views about working in groups. Stubborn and defensive also comes to mind when I think about them -- they strike me as pretty reactive on the whole. They are also more supportive characters and brave, definitely. I can also see some white mage, but the overall vibe and the way you talked tipped it over to Thief for me.
