4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went. I prefer to lead and make decisions, as well as micromanage. I have a cockiness about me that prevents me from letting someone else take complete control. There is a definite sense that, with enough work, if I cannot make a better product, then I can at least make one that's as good as anyone else's. So why risk letting someone else oversee everything and deal with any problems which may arise?

5) Spider-Man Decision: If you had to choose between saving two dozen innocent children and saving your best friend/significant other/person closest to you, which would you pick and why? Best friend/significant other/person closest to me. Of course, Spider-Man would simply sling a web from each hand and save both. He cheats like that :-P

6) Your friend has had their feelings hurt and comes to you for consolation. What do you do? Let's say, two days later they come to you again still upset over the same issue. What would you do in that case? Try and find out what's bothering them and see what I can do to help. Talk with them about it and see if perhaps it's a misunderstanding; if it's not, then at least talking to someone will help.

7) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time? Interests: First and Second World Wars, International Diplomacy, Learning the "Why?" in world events. Time: Video Games, Online Strategy Games

8) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you. Business: It would allow interaction with others and a chance for me to capitalize on one of my skills, which is reasoning and problem-solving.

Professor: Would allow me to delve into my interests as more than just a hobby.

FF Questions:

9) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay. Final Fantasy VI (War of the Magi): Great polarization of characters and good characterization. For the most part, motives are explained and antagonists, such as Kefka (who is quite clearly presented as just...a bad person), draw very well on what is typically viewed as right and wrong.

10) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why: 1) Sazh: He had a sweet afro, with a bird living in it. Which is pretty intense. 2) Locke Cole: He was chivalrous and good-intentioned, and I can respect those qualities. 3) Edgar Roni Figaro: He was willing to risk his political position (and life) in order to do what he thought was right and was willing to stand up for what he believed in. This slightly outweighs the fact that he was a blatant womanizer and mildly irresponsible.

11) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why: Sazh: If I had a sweet afro like his, I would totally keep a bird in it.

12) The FF game you liked playing least: FF 13. The interface just didn't hook me. That, however, doesn't stop me from liking the characters (mainly Sazh).

13) One to three FF characters you dislike and why: Kefka. He has no redeeming qualities.

14) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities): Brynhildr. It was a sweet ride that Sazh entered after he was finished kicking butt with his pistols. Hardcore.

If that doesn't count, then Edgar's chainsaws. Mainly because he was a king and he was going around tearing up the battlefield with a...chainsaw. Also hardcore.

15) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.): See above.

16) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.): Just your standard heal. It's saved me many a time.

17) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into: FF IV altogether. I seemed to wander aimlessly for hours in that game.

18) Your favorite Cid: Cid from FF IV. He was helpful and a good enough guy. Then, I only remember encountering him in one game...which is FF IV.

19) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why. Monk. I like to think that I'm reasonable, but that I'm also more headstrong than a monk.

I'm getting a mixture here. A bit of white mage, a bit of black mage, a bit of dragoon and a bit of soldier. The soldier was just traces, so it's a tie between the first three.

You are a loyal, intellectual, reasonable person. I get more of a black mage and dragoon in both more so than the white mage, especially given just how independently strategical you are. Beside that, I actually cannot make up my mind of which one suits you more.

So a tie of black mage and dragoon.

Sorry to make you choose, but comm rules ask that you only bold one class name. Could you pick one of the two you listed? Thanks!

I think you're a Black Mage! Something about your positive/negative trait writeup makes me think of Lulu -- she can be skeptical but she doesn't judge people until they've had a chance to prove themselves, and she's also empathetic as well. Being logical and outspoken makes me think of Black Mages too, as do your interests/hobbies/career choices, and I think the dichotomies fit pretty well too. The other classes I was thinking of were Soldier and Dragoon, but I think Black Mage fits best overall.

I was torn between White Mage and Black Mage at the beginning, but overall I feel that Black Mage suits you best. Your three strengths and weaknesses are very characteristic of Black Mages: outspoken, reasonable, empathetic, logical, and sometimes skeptical. I agree with

chacusha that your answers are very reminiscent of Lulu but I also saw some Rydia from FFIV as well. Also your hobbies and dream jobs sound like something Black Mages would love to do, i.e. reasoning and problem-solving.

I can definitely see Dragoon, Black Mage, and Soldier in your application...but, I think I'm actually leaning more towards Soldier! You don't necessarily remind me of the "Cloud, Squall, Lightning" type of Soldiers...but, I can see the type of Soldier that is more similar to Firion, Luneth, Ingus, Cecil, Zack, Tidus, Paine, Basch, Gabranth, Ashe, and Ramza. Many of those types of Soldier characters are reasonable (ex: Ingus, Cecil, Ramza, Basch), empathetic (ex: Firion, Luneth, Cecil, Ramza), logical (ex: Ingus, Cecil, Paine, Basch, Ramza), sensitive (ex: pretty much all of them, actually!), outspoken (ex: Luneth, Ingus, Zack, Tidus, Gabranth, Ashe), and skeptical (ex: Paine, Gabranth, Ashe).

With the exception of Tidus and Zack, the Soldier characters I listed are all pretty middle-ground/in-between when it comes to being both introverted/extroverted and reserved/impulsive. Ones like Luneth, Ingus, Zack, and Tidus are probably more likely to fall under the cheerful category (and your Tend to believe that events may happen as a result of bad luck, but also that any amount of bad luck can be overcome if I stick to it comment seems very fitting for them!). With the exception of possibly Tidus, Gabranth, and Ashe...the Soldiers I listed also tend to lean more towards the calm side (Even if a good or bad event happens, there is no need to make a big deal of it. It won't be the last good thing, and freaking out over a mishap only makes it worse...which is a mindset that they would need as Soldiers!). Quite a few of them like the idea of not holding a grudge as well, but also find it difficult to forgive people who do continuously let them down. Your answer to the team question fits really well for a Soldier...and, while I'm not entirely sure most of them would answer that way for the Spider-Man decision, a couple of them would (Gabranth...and actually Lightning)! Your consoling a friend answer makes me think of the Soldier class as well...and I think many of them would appreciate jobs that involve reasoning and problem-solving as well. :)

I can see quite a bit of Dragoon AND Soldier at times in your application, but overall I think I'm leaning more towards a Black Mage vote myself. Black Mages tend to be fairly reasonable characters do like to give others the benefit of the doubt at times (Shantotto, Rinoa, Palom, Lulu, and Vivi all showcase this at times), they can be rather empathetic towards what others are feeling, and are also pretty logical (Shantotto, Lulu, and Palom are good examples of this). A few Black Mages can be rather sensitive (Vivi and Rinoa are pretty good examples of this), tend to be outspoken (Shantotto, Rinoa, Palom, Rydia, and Lulu), and there are a few who can be somewhat skeptical (Palom in certain instances, Lulu, Shantotto).

I could especially see where a possible Soldier vote would come from when looking specifically at your traits section...though quite a few of those fit with Black Mages too. Black Mages tend to not be avid attention-seekers for the most part save for maybe one or two exceptions, and I could see quite a few of them agreeing with your thoughts on "Tend to believe that events may happen as a result of bad luck, but also that any amount of bad luck can be overcome if I stick to it."...that actually really reminds me a lot of Shantotto in a way, though I can also see Palom and Rydia somehow relating to that statement too somehow. Quite a few Black Mages (again, save for an extreme few) tend to be more of the middle-ground between reserved and impulsive as well. I could see many Black Mages sharing your calmer viewpoint on how getting worked up over a tense situation isn't necessarily going to fix things either. ...And I could see several Black Mage characters perhaps not wanting to really hold grudges if they could avoid it, but perhaps finding it hard NOT to do in certain repeating circumstances.

Again, your group-work answer almost had me thinking of Dragoons or Soldiers in a way...but I could still see it being viable for Black Mages too: especially considering the mindsets of Black Mages such as Shantotto and Palom at times. Haha, your Spider-Man response actually REALLY does remind me a lot of Shantotto...though I could see several of the Black Mage characters attempting to save their loved one first for various reasons. And I could see them wanting to comfort a friend by listening and trying to figure out solutions that way too. Your ideal careers somehow seem to fit rather well to me with several of the Black Mage characters given their roles in their respective parties and stories.

So yes, it was actually very close between Dragoon and especially Soldier for my vote...but overall, there was just something about your responses that had me leaning more towards a Black Mage vote. :)

I have a hard time choosing a class for you. I can see quite a lot of each class already mentioned. I thought of Dragoon when I read your traits, then your this or that section seemed more like a Black Mage to me. The rest of the question made me think of Soldier class. After some thoughts I think Black Mage fits you the most. They're usually logical, the one who think rational. Reasonable (I remember a few soldiers judging others before they could prove them wrong), empathetic, skeptical, outspoken. Most Black Mages are quiet but they aren't exactly shy or anything. I think lots of Black Mages in the series proved they have strong opinions and won't take bullshit from anyone (sorry for using that word but.. :x). You sound like someone strong like them but not exactly aloof or "gloomy" like Dragoons or Soldiers. Your [x]'d section makes me think more of Black Mages than the other two as well.

Black Mage.

Logical, outspoken, skeptical, empathetic - I imagine you're a good listener; all traits I associate, personally, with a Black Mage. You're a leader as well, or at least, you prefer to lead, and even mention you take a sort of cockiness to it, which could fall into an ego of a specific Black Mage. Your job choices just feel like a Black Mage to me as well, logical, problem solving - you want a job that can truly bring our your skills to others as well as yourself. I see no other class here besides Black Mage. (As you said at the end of your application, you're definitely more headstrong than a Monk.)

By the time I got to your negative traits, I had it narrowed down to Black Mage and Dragoon, but like the others I'm leaning a bit more towards Black Mage. I can't really much more to what has already been said, but your interests and profession choices are what tipped it over for me. While I think your tone is more Dragoon, your reasons tend to be more Black Mage-equse as they imply a natural curiosity and general appreciation for knowledge. (... and even then said tone could fit a few black mages, like Lulu) As it was said above-- you're logical and collected, but not as gloomy as the other classes who fit that description.

I can see why people have suggested a black mage sort, but I think I have to vote Soldier.

You're outgoing and have a take-charge attitude in a project. While you do an inordinate amount of work yourself and have a bit of a perfectionist streak, you do well in teams and get along well with others.

Your strategic mindset could go either way, as could your answer to the Spiderman question, but how you interact with others is the defining factor for me.

It's pretty difficult to choose your class, but though I can see where all the Black Mage votes come from, I'm going to go with Soldier.

Your traits are very much Soldier and taking charge is pretty much the job of Soldiers in these games. But it was actually your interest that sealed the deal for me, they just seem to me to be a very soldierish topics.

I can see where the Soldier votes are coming from but I keep going back to Black Mage.

You're calm, intelligent, logical, somewhat perfectionistic, outspoken and confident enough of your abilities to be a little cocky. Your sensitivity reminds me of Vivi and the edge of confidence reminds me of Shantotto.

I can see both Soldier and Black Mage in your application ( but I can also see where the dragoon vote is coming from ) but in the end I agree more with the Soldier votes. Your three best traits and three worst, many of your answers to the "rate yourself" section and the overall tone of your application, reminded me a bit more of Soldier than Black mage.

I saw some Soldier at first, but I think your later answers make me lean a little more towards Black Mage. There's a streak of logicality and practicality that can go for both Black Mages and Soldiers IMO, but some of your answers remind me of Black Mage a little more - many classes are intelligent, but I tend to associate Black Mages with an inclination towards academia in particular.
