Personality Questions:
1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
Helpful: While I don't go out of my way for everyone by any means, for those who I care about I will do just about anything for. I've gone to some pretty extreme sacrifices for my friends, even driving 7 hours to go pick one up when they were having problems. I genuinely love helping those around me and making them happy.
Adaptable: One of my best traits in my opinion, is my ability to improvise and adapt to different situations. I've never had much of a problem with adjusting to new locations, people, etc. Something crazy happens at work? No problem. Granted I may not LIKE what I'm having to adapt to, but if it gets the job done then I'll figure out a way. I'm just really flexible.
independent: I hate burdening others with my problems, and don't really like relying on others for help (though I don't mind being relied on). I've always kind of supported myself, especially since graduating from high school. While I like being around others I don't ever need to be, and can function perfectly fine on my own.
2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
Indecisive: I over analyze everything, and ultimately and am not sure of what I want and it leads me to being extremely indecisive. It takes me forever to make a decision, for example, I've been working on this application for WAY longer than I intended to because I can't make decisions on half of the answers. ;_;
Passive-aggressive: Heh, I have a very long fuse, and it's hard to really make me mad or dislike you, but its not pretty when you do. I can be bitter, spiteful, or even in general I can make snide off-hand response to take a stab at you. I'm not an explosive anger type, but I tend to bottle things up and it just leads to being passive-aggressive.
Sensitive: Okay, I don't mean I'm whiny baby and can't take a critic, but I care a lot about what people think of me, and outside of the professional realm I tend to take things too personal. This is not the worse trait, but it is a cause of some of my others like certain insecurities, or how I can loose motivation if I feel I'm not doing well, etc. Also, at times this can really play off of my passive-aggressive attitude
3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.
Introverted [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain:
Well, socially I'm extroverted, but I am more introverted regarding my emotions, and only a select few ever know if I'm going through some sort of problem, because I'd rather not burden others with something I feel is a personal matter. I'm very outgoing and love meeting new people, and can jump in to new social situations fairly easily.
Cheerful [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain:
Definitely more cheerful than gloomy, but I don't have rainbows spewing out of my butt. I'm extremely prone to laughter (even at my own expense), and like to take enjoyment in the simple things. I can get gloomy and very depressed at times, but typically I don't let it show and it's more of a private matter.
Leader [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Supportive
Explain:
I'm not a blind supportive follower, but I'm not fond of leading - I'm too indecisive. I'd rather offer advice and opinion on matters when I feel like it rather than be the one everyone looks to for guidance all time.
Confident [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Modest
Explain:
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. At times I am very modest, and other times I'm like "OH YAH I'M A PRO", so it depends on my mood, the subject matter, and who I'm around.
Reserved [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Impulsive
Explain:
Er as far as cautious and impulsive goes, about trivial matters I can be somewhat impulsive, but my indecisiveness paired with being a bit too cautious at times causes me to over-think things that are evem mildly important (and sometimes even silly little things are prone to be over-analyzed).
Energetic [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Calm
Explain:
Oh boy, hmm, normally I'd say directly in the middle, but I guess I'm slightly more energetic. I do love the calm relaxing days of sitting down with a book, or going for a walk, but around others I'm usually more energetic. It's almost as if I have a switch and can go from one to the other rather quickly. I wouldn't call myself hyper, but I do have plenty of energy when I feel like it.
Feminine [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain:
It took me a good while to choose this one, I wouldn't necessarily say I'm either? Somedays I feel like being feminine, and I typically dress more feminine than masculine; however, I can have a very crude sense of humor, and don't mind doing dirty work or running around in the mud. I guess it's because I've always grown up being friends with guys.
4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.
It depends on the team to be honest. In general, I enjoy working on teams because I like to be around others but I hate when you get stuck with a slacker who causes everyone else to carry their weight as well. I don't
like leading the team particularly, but if nobody else is better qualified than I will - I had no problem leading teams at work.
5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy anything crafty really, I'm an avid cosplayer and learning to sew and everything is very challenging yet fun and requires a lot of improvising. I also enjoy drawing, making graphics, reading (which I do a LOT), and cooking. I love being outdoors whether it's just relaxing, hiking, swimming or anything really - but only when it's warm, I tend to become a lazy bum during the winter.
6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.
Graphic Designer is my career of choice at the moment, with dabbling in web design. Particularly I'm hoping to one day do the graphic design work for a videogame company. I previously wanted to do concept art, but I don't have quite enough drive and dedication to ONLY do art for videogames to actually have a shot at it, though I do have an associates degree in Game Art. I also considered photography... but I ultimately changed my mind to Graphic Deisgn because photography can always be a great side job, but a little too unreliable for me to choose as a primary source of income.
I've honestly not been able to think of anything else I would even want to do other than something artistic, and while I've flopped around a lot I've known I wanted to do something regarding graphics of some sort, and the whole mentality of graphic design as a solution to a problem is appealing to me.
tl;dr Graphic Design because I like pretty things and my computer.
FF Questions:
7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.
ONLY THREE? /so indesicive
Okay, I would have to choose VII, IX, and X - though Dissidia is up there for it's addicting gameplay, and VI I love to bits and pieces... the story of the 3 previously mentioned ultimately push them over the edge. I
get really sucked in to good stories, and extremely attached to characters and all three do a really good job of getting me really involved in them. IX is so charming and quirky, you can't help but love it. X has probably the best and deepest story of any FF I've ever played, and the ending still makes me tear up. VII has a great cast, and though the story has its ups and downs (and plot holes) I overall love it and the more mature feel compared to some rpgs. I guess I like things with dark undertones and/or bittersweet. I am slightly biased towards VII because it has a lot of sentimental value for me.
8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:.
Aerith: Usually my favorite characters aren't the white-magey type, but I've always had a strong attachement to her, and I find her rather inspiring. She isn't perfect, she isn't nauseatingly sweet either; she's a girl with a heavy burden who doesn't let it get her down. She's had a rough life and has a little of that slums-spunk in her, but overall she doesn't let her problems weigh her down. Though keep in mind I am speaking strictly VII!Aeris, and none of the compilation games or KH.
Zidane: is also really high up there, because I love how even when he goes through complete crap at the end of the game, he gets depressed for about a total of 5 minutes, before realizing it's just not worth it. I've always been fond of his fighting style and how he interacts with the other characters.
Oh boy, erm... there are a lot of others I could say and go in to a lot of detail (Edgar, Zack, Cid, Beatrix, Tidus, Balthier, Zell, Cloud... I could go on forever)
9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:
Ho'boy, it took me a long time to think of some people for this.
I'd probably have to say Aerith (for the same reasons above), Irvine, and Zidane. (Though with a bit of Zack and Cid in there too I guess. Oh crap, I better stop. /flees)
10) The FF game you liked playing least:
Hmm, thats tough. VIII I guess.
11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:
RINOA. JUST. RAAAAAAAAAAH. Sorry and no offense if you like her, but she is one of the few characters who make me want to slam my face in to a wall. I wont go in to detail because I know a lot of people who like her. I'm also not a huge fan of Vaan either.
12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):
THE OGRE. [x] Whats not to love about it? Though I'm also partial to a few of Fangs and Freya's lances, as well as Fran's bow because they are all intricately designed and pack a punch.
13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):
Bahamut, king of dragons raaah. Okay, I like big flashy explosions. Also, what's not to love about dragons? Zero Bahamut was pretty awesome too though. Well, Shiva (especially in X) has always been a VERY close second to Bahamut.
14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):
Solution 9, Energy Rain, and Edgar's tools (chainsaw baby). HASTEGA, mmm yes. Also, Waterga, Blizzaga, and Regen.
15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:
Heh, heh heh heh. I have spent waaay too much time at the gold saucer and playing blitzball. They're very addicting, though I never managed to get Wakka's ultimate weapon. ;_;
16) Your favorite Cid:
CID HIGHWIIIIIND. ♥
Okay, so he's one of my favorite characters period, but I absolutely adore that man. He's so badass, manly, and I love his foul-mouthed, crude sense of humor. He also made a great party leader when Cloud was a zombie in a wheelchair; besides, he has an airship. ;D
17) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.
White Mage. Even in other games when people try and get me to play a healer class I'm just instantly like, "No, end of story." :| I admire those who can and enjoy it, and I love some good heals, but I would get SO bored healing all the time.
edit: sorry, I had to edit from something I missed real quick before anyone voted.
