Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)

- Sense of Humor: I always seem to know the right thing to say to make people laugh, regardless of their current state of emotion. I have been told, occasionally, that I should be a stand-up comedian; although my jokes rely mainly on pop-culture references as well as personal references. It is also very dry at times, and sarcastic, as well as unorthodox.

- Sense of Sacrifice: This one, I suppose, is perhaps my strongest - but among the most difficult to fully explain. There are times where I have been willing, and I have, to sacrifice my friendship with someone so that my friend can live a happy, stress-free life. The best I can further describe this is, I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to see my friends happy, even if it means sacrificing my own happiness to achieve that goal.

- Sense of Compassion: I am very compassionate, almost to the point of annoyance. My friends, my loved ones, they all applaud me for this. Even if you are someone I particularly dislike, if you are upset, then I will ensure that you are no longer upset. However, my compassion only goes so far. If you have wronged others, or have wronged me, I see no reason to share my compassion with you. What use is it then, if you will dismiss it so easily?

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.

- Crippling Depression: There are times where I am struck with a depression which is so vast and mysteriously acquired, the ones I love the most can do little to bring me out of it. I see no point in living, no point of anything in life, almost something akin to apathy, just on a more extreme level. However, this depression never carries me into the regions of suicide, or self-harm. I can control it to a certain extent.

- Low Self-Esteem: This one is not circumstantial. I have always valued myself so low, placing myself lower than others, failing to see what makes me so great, so loving, so wonderful. Even now recently, when I have learned to accept myself, this self-esteem is as low as before. Perhaps even lower. I take compliments with denial, even though I eventually accept them, reluctantly.

- Laziness: This one is odd. It takes a lot for me to get anything started, but once I do get started, I am an extremely hard worker. At the start, I am apathetic, reluctant to do anything, but with time, I will eventually fulfill the task given to me.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Extroverted

Explain: I am in between an Introvert and an Extrovert. I enjoy reflecting upon life, and solitary activities such as reading, writing, or walking, even cleaning, bring a profound peace upon me. But I am also talkative and enthusiastic when it comes to certain things.

Cheerful [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Gloomy

Explain: Again, like the above, I am in the middle. There are times when I am extremely cheerful, and others where I am extremely gloomy.

Leader [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] Supportive

Explain: I do not particularly enjoy being a leader due to the stress that comes with it, as well as the countless decisions one must make.

Confident [ ] [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] Modest

Explain: As noted above, I am extremely modest, but there are times when I can be confident.

Reserved [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Impulsive

Explain: It's.. hard to explain this one.

Energetic [ ] [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] Calm

Explain: Once more, depends, really.

Feminine [ ] [X] [ ] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish

Explain: I may be male, but I enjoy things that are generally considered feminine. Flowers, poetry, photography, love.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.

I enjoy working by myself, because I do not want to bring the team down. I am not very reliable, unfortunately, when it comes to certain tasks.

5) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?

Reading, writing poetry, writing novels, writing short stories, writing out random thoughts, listening to music, watching TV/anime, learning.

6) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.

Author - I love writing & reading.

Poet - I love expressing myself through abstract poetry, I also love reading poetry.

Teacher - I love learning and I love helping others.

FF Questions:

7) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.

In order:

Final Fantasy X - This one is perhaps the most emotional of them all to me. Tidus' story is just so lovely and heartwrenching and humorous and perfect. Each and every character is fleshed out perfectly, the environments are lovely, the soundtrack is dream and euphoria-inducing and it has perhaps one of my favorite songs of all-time; To Zanarkand.

Final Fantasy IV - This one is perhaps the most epic of them all to me. The soundtrack fits perfectly whenever it's played, the characters are tragic but heroic, and the whole moral theme of betrayal and friendship just truly touches me like no other.

Final Fantasy VI - This was formerly my favorite one until I replayed through X and IV. The whole rebellion thing was always something I enjoyed in fiction. Also, Kefka is perhaps one of the most twisted, insane and genuinely scary villains I've ever encountered. The music is also brilliant in this game, Terra's Theme is just so poignant, so powerful, so. . amazing. The Decisive Battle (boss theme) is my favorite boss theme in the series, Force Your Way (FFVIII) being my second.

8) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

Tidus: As explained above, his story is particularly emotional, heartwrenching, gut-tearing, just wonderful. Despite his whiny/overexcited attitude that was disliked by many players, I enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace from Cloud, and Squall. Zidane was also that welcome change of pace, but at times his attitude felt a little forced. Tidus, however, had perfectly good reason (not saying Zidane didn't. That's a whole 'nother story.) to act the way he did.

Cecil: There is so much to say about him. Not only did he have a major character development happen about halfway through the storyline, but he's had more betrayal than most anybody else I can think of in the Final Fantasy universe. His personality is just, well, it's hard to explain without spoiling it for anybody else. So I'll just say that it's complex, never static, and his relationship with Golbez is perhaps one of the most rewarding I've seen yet in a FF game.

9) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:

Tidus: Yes, I am a huge fan of Tidus. I actually can't relate with Tidus on a lot of issues, but perhaps the..hm, loneliness, I suppose? In a way, even though he was a Guardian, and he did have Yuna, and everybody else, no one really, truly, understood him. Or maybe that's what he believes, because of Jecht constantly putting him down, he believes nobody really understands him and that everybody inherently has a dislike of him. I can relate to that in so many ways, though I will not go into too much detail. I just feel that people never understand me, even when I openly discuss my feelings with them.

10) The FF game you liked playing least: That would be Final Fantasy XII. It's not a bad game, nor is it a bad Final Fantasy game (even though I believe it should have been kept in the Tactics series and not as a numbered FF game), but for some reason the battle system, the music, the character development system, almost everything about it bugs me and I have no idea why. I intend to give it another go soon, though.

11) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:

Surprisingly, I don't dislike any FF character. They all have their quirks, their advantages, their disadvantages.

12) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities): Excalibur in any variation, any FF game it's been in. Perhaps this is rooted in my deep fascination for Morte d' Arthur or as many others know it, the King Arthur tales.

13) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.): The Crusaders, FFVI.

14) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.): Blue Magic, or Enemy Skill in FFVII's case. I just find it so innovative you can learn an enemy's ability after they've attacked you with it, then use it against that same enemy. Almost like an eye for an eye, no?

15) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into: Like many others, perhaps, I invested way too much time into the Chocobo Search mini-game in FFIX, just to get to Ozma, which I also spent way too much time in trying to beat him.

16) Your favorite Cid: FFIV's Cid, without a doubt. He made perhaps one of the most heroic sacrifices in FF history, and he still wasn't done.

17) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why. Monk, if only because even though I enjoy peace and tend to avoid conflict, I am prone to bouts of anger.

Oooh, Morte d'Arthur!

Anyway. I can see some Dragoon and some White Mage, but overall I think I'm voting White Mage, especially because your strengths/weaknesses are things I tend to relate with White Mages most. They're more conflict-avoiding - they won't necessarily back away from it, but I think they prefer solutions that don't hurt people. Also, throughout your application there's a sensitivity and caring to other people that really makes me think of White Mage. They aren't always cheerful, either: people like Garnet and Yuna usually do have lower self-esteem and a somewhat sad outlook on life.

Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] ff_land, anyway, and I hope you have fun!
