Personality Questions:

1) List and expand upon your three best traits / strengths. (These should be personality-related, not physical.)
* I'm a fast learner and highly adaptive. I only need to do a little poking before getting a hang of something new and unfamiliar situations don't faze me for very long.

* I'm a good listener, I don't mind if people use me to vent. I find no problem in hearing them out and, if necessary, comforting them.

* I'm open minded and tolerant. If I dislike you it's because you did something wrong and not because of your gender/race/sexuality/life state/whatever

2) List and expand upon your three worst traits / weaknesses.
* I'm impatient. I hate waiting and lagging irritates me

* I tend to have a bit of a quick temper. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's not pretty

* I'm easily discouraged. Critique doesn't affect me much, it's rather being overlooked or ignored that gets to me. Also, if I perform worse than I expected.

3) Rate yourself on the following traits by putting an 'X' in the box you think fits best. (E.g. if you are slightly more introverted than extroverted, put an 'X' in the second box.) Explain your choice as well.

Introverted [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Extroverted
Explain:
It depends on the situation and my mood really. Sometimes I'm a real social butterfly, having several conversations at the same time. Other times I just want to be alone and ignore that anyone else exists.

Cheerful [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Gloomy
Explain:
I have noticed that whatever life throws at me, I always survive it, so there's no point in me sulking. Although sometimes it's really hard not to.

Reserved [ ] [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] Impulsive
Explain:
If I stop to mull things over, I never get them done.

Energetic [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] [ ] Calm
Explain:
I can be calm if I need to be (eg. in classroom), but generally I prefer to be on the move

Feminine [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] [ ] Masculine/Tomboyish
Explain:
I'm pretty much somewhere in the middle here. I love cooking and flowers and frilly skirts, but at the same time I also like fixing things, have no problem with getting into a fist-fight and I hate make-up with passion.

Grudge-holding [ ] [ ] [ ] [x] [ ] Forgiving
Explain:
What's the point in hating? There is a catch though - I cannot forgive without an apology.

4) Describe how you typically work in teams. Is it generally a good experience, or do you prefer working by yourself? Do you like to lead and make decisions or do you prefer to let others make decisions so that you can do the legwork? You may find it helpful to give an example of a team you worked on recently and how that went.
I can work well both alone and in teams. I prefer working as a co-leader, so I have someone to help me out with decision-making. I'm generally the idea-leader, coming up with what we could do and looking up what we need, leaving the other leader to coordinate the other teammembers.

5) Spider-Man Decision: If you had to choose between saving two dozen innocent children and saving your best friend/significant other/person closest to you, which would you pick and why?
The person close to me. Yeah, it's a cruel decision, but that person would be someone I've emotionally invested into and if I ever was forced into such decision I think my emotions would over-ride everything

6) Your friend has had their feelings hurt and comes to you for consolation. What do you do? Let's say, two days later they come to you again still upset over the same issue. What would you do in that case?
I'd sit down and listen to what they have to say. If they wanted I'd offer help and advice. Two days later I'd do the same. and so forth until the problem gets solved.

7) What interests/hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your free time?
I'm a bit of a gamer, I enjoy playing all kinds of video games. I also read a lot, especially science fiction and fantasy and i have a special soft spot for alternate history. I used to be into digital art, but after all my friends started to move on, I gave it up as well.

8) Describe one to three careers you would find ideal, with a little explanation of why it appeals to you.
A teacher, it's what I'm studying to become actually. It's one of the most important positions in the society and a real chance to make a difference in the world, helping shape futures and worldviews of children.

FF Questions:

9) List one to three favorite Final Fantasy games and why you like them. Sequels/spin-offs/non-numbered/KH/Dissidia games are okay.
FFVII - you know what they say about first loves. It's what got me into the world of Final Fantasy. I just love (almost) everything about it, the characters, the story, the music, the materia system, etc

FFVI - again, the story, the characters, everything is just great and I love the kinda ethereal quality it seems to have

FFIV - and once again it's the story and characters that have enticed me. It also gets plus points for not having your usual "normal guy turned hero after being oppressed by the evil empire" as a protagonist, but rater a "former bad guy who's had an epiphany", that was refreshing.

10) List one to three of your favorite Final Fantasy characters and why:

Tidus - others can say what they want, but I found him a very complex and tragic hero

Tifa - I empathise a lot with her, plus I love how she's a woman who can beat up her enemies without needing a weapon or magic

Faris - what's not to like about a crossdressing pirate captain?

11) One to three characters you relate to (you may reuse answers from #8 if applicable) and why:

Like I've already mentioned, I empathise a lot with Tifa. I share many personality traits with her, like inability to voice her emotions and tendency to take care of others.

12) The FF game you liked playing least:

I don't really dislike any of them, but if I have to answer, I'd say FFV. I'm not much of a fan of the job system (here, I'd like to note that I haven't played FFIII)

13) One to three FF characters you dislike and why:

Sephiroth - he just irks me, most of the time he seems to be devoid of any actual personality

Steiner - I admit, I'm only half-way through FFIX, but he's just so slow on uptake that I just want to whack him over the head

14) Favorite weapon in a Final Fantasy game (either the name if you liked the name, or a picture if you liked the look of it, or a description if it had awesome stats/abilities):

I don't really pay attention to weapons to be honest, just their stats when I'm upgrading the equipment. Perhaps Rinoa's Blaster Edge, since it's something new and original

15) Your favorite Final Fantasy summon (e.g. Ifrit, Carbuncle, Bahamut, etc.):

I like them all really, but I've been re-playing FFVII recently and in the process I've totally fallen in love with the Choco/Mog summon

16) Your favorite spell/ability/technique that can be learned in a Final Fantasy game (e.g. Esuna, Steal, special finishes/overdrives such as Tifa's Final Heaven limit break, etc.):

I have a soft spot for the Mug skill. There's just something about beating up your enemies and taking their valuables that appeals to me. That said, I'm also rather fond of Cyan's sword skills.

17) A Final Fantasy mini-game/sidequest you invested entirely too much time into:

Triple Triad! I'm pretty sure I spent more time on playing cards than on the actual plot

18) Your favorite Cid:

Cid Highwind. Not that there's anything wrong with the other Cids, but let's face it - this Cid has the most epic theme.

19) Optional: Up to one class you think does not fit you, with reasoning why.

I wavered a lot between Thief and White Mage for you ([livejournal.com profile] lumati should be pleased that there's another person here with that particular class mix, lol) but ultimately I think I'm going to go Thief. It was the Spiderman Decision question that really sealed it for me, I think. A WM would be more likely to be overcome by compassion for the children, I think, while the Thief would have the more personal response. In addition, you're energetic, cheerful, and a fast learner (all thieves), as well as tolerant (Zidane and Rikku come to mind). While the Thieves might not always be the greatest listeners, a few have proved good at it (Locke, Rikku, later game Zidane).

Plus, you like Mug. Obviously you're a Thief! Lol.

Don't worry, Steiner gets a little less thick by the end of the game. He's always pretty slow on the uptake, but his character develops as much as the others. (IX's my favorite because of that - I hope you're enjoying it!)

I was definitely thinking either Thief, Monk, or one of the Mage classes for you...but, after re-reading your application a couple times I think I'm leaning the most towards Thief as well! I think pretty much all of the Thief characters can be described as fast learners, highly adaptable, good listeners, open-minded/tolerant (actually your If I dislike you it's because you did something wrong and not because of your gender/race/sexuality/life state/whatever comment makes me think of Thieves like Zidane and Vaan!), and impatient...and many are shown to have quick tempers or get discouraged at points (Edge, Locke, Yuffie, Zidane, Rikku, and Vaan all have moments where they share those traits). While Thieves are often associated with being more extroverted, there are a few of them that fall more into the "in-between" introverted/extroverted category depending on their moods (Edge in The After Years, Locke, and Vaan for examples!). Thieves in FF tend to be pretty cheerful and survivors despite what life throws at them. They can also be pretty impulsive, more energetic overall, and forgiving *if* they get an apology! XD

Thieves in FF can work alone or in groups fairly well, although they also often become co-leaders or idea-leaders in their own way. I could picture most of the Thief characters being more likely to rescue the person closest to them in the Spider-Man Decision scenario as well. I think many of them would react the same as you to the situation involving consoling a friend as well, and for some reason I think many of the Thief characters would make really great teachers too (like how Zidane takes Vivi under his wing and tries to teach him things in FFIX!). ...Plus, you have a soft spot for the Mug skill! XD

~Hehe, Cid Highwind is my favorite of the Cids as well! His theme is indeed epic! ♥

I'm getting a huge sense of both Thief for the speed you deal with things, and Black Mage for the intellectual side you have. In the end, I decided to go for a Black Mage on the basis that I think the impulsiveness and the assertion works with both, but you have far less patience toward other people's slowness (like Steiner) which for a thief, they are more likely to do the "ba-bye" than grunt and drag them alone anyway.

(I am team Soldier, no banner yet. :D )

[identity profile] breyzyyin.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...I could see you fitting into either the White Mage (hmm...probably BOTH Mage classes, actually! :D) or Monk job class rather easily at times--but in the end I think I'm going to have to agree with the Thief votes you've gotten already. Your strengths and weaknesses actually fit with quite a few Thief characters in the FF series to me. Quite a few of them are known to have quick tempers, can get discouraged at times, or can be impatient in other instances (Vaan, Edge, Yuffie, Locke, Zidane, and Rikku all display these traits at certain story points in their respective games)...however, many of the Theif characters are also shown to be fast learners and highly adaptive to situations they find themselves in (Locke, Zidane, Edge, Shadow, and Rikku definitely showcase this), can be really good listeners who don't mind comforting others should they feel they need it (Zidane, Rikku, and Locke are excellent examples of this!), and many Thief characters are often shown to be rather open-minded and tolerant (Locke, Rikku, Zidane, and Vaan). Depending on the Thief character you're looking at and the situation they're in, they can be either introverted or extroverted at times (Locke, Zidane, and Vaan for examples). They tend to be more impulsive characters in general...and many of them share a similar mindset with you that if they don't do something it will never happen. While they can be calm when it is necessary to do so (Locke, Rikku, Zidane, Vaan, and Edge in TAY), many Thief characters like to be more energetic or on the move whenever they can be. Many Thief characters also tend to be quite forgiving too, or at the very least seem to not like holding grudges if they can avoid it...though I could see several of them (such as Vaan, Edge, Rikku, or Yuffie) wanting there to be some kind of apology or at least a showing of remorse beforehand.

How you described your preferences for group work and leadership responsibilities also fits with quite a few Thief characters in the series to me--as did your answer to the Spider-Man Decision as well (they would decide such a situation on the intense personal emotions they were feeling at the time). Considering how characters such as Zidane and Rikku often tried to comfort friends, I could definitely see Thieves relating to your answer to that question too--and for some reason, I could definitely see a few of the Thief characters (such as Zidane with Vivi and Vaan with Larsa) being teacher figures of sorts!

I loved reading your answers to the FF series section, by the way. Blaster Edge definitely seems like it would be a very interesting and unique weapon! Your favorite character picks are quite awesome! :)

I had a bit of a hard time deciding between Thief and White Mage, but I think in the end thief won out - I think you have an impulsiveness generally not found in White Mages. Adaptiveness and open-minded are also Thief traits - many of them are good at improvising and are pretty accepting people, overall.

(Also, oooh, another IV/VI fan! :D)

I don't want to seem like I am reusing my answer from the last application I answered, but I am going to say that you seem to be a Thief. You seem to have a big heart, and while that is usually an indication of a White Mage, you seem just a bit too peppy for that class. I also think your "Spider-Man decision" comes into play, with emotion winning out. A White Mage deliberates, a Thief does.

I wish I had more experience with the games you mentioned, but welcome to the comm just the same! ♥

I have to agree with the Thief votes on this one. Your preference for being on the mood, mention on not minding fist-fights, and love of the mug skill points it towards a more physical class, and your positive traits fit most of the thieves perfectly. Adaption is pretty much required of them, and they're usually portrayed as even more open-minded than the other characters. (While only a select few aren't, we do have examples like Locke not caring if Celes was from the Empire so long as she meant well otherwise, Zidane not viewing Garnet as "just a princess," and Rikku perhaps not being particularly fond of Yevon, but still wanting to get along with Yevonities.) Most are impatient, some have quick tempers (Edge especially, but Vaan and Yuffie do as well at points), and pretty much all your responses to 3 fit them quite well.

They work well alone and on teams, are more likely to save the one close to them than some of the other classes, and most are fighting to make a difference in the world one way or another.

Also-- hurray for IV and VI love ♦

...yeah, agreeing with the thief votes too, though my second instinct is Monk. Your energy, impatience, adaptivity and ability to learn new skills very quickly bring to mind the ingenuity and quick-thinking of FF Thieves such as Rikku, Edge and Zidane.

Also? Bro-fist for the Tidus love. Haters to the left, we Tidus-fans have it handled!

I could see the thiefiness from the start! While through the app, I could see sides of White Mage and perhaps Monk as well, like everyone before me, I'm going to go with Thief

I'm not sure what I can add that everyone hasn't already said, but the adaptability, the cheeriness, and the quick temper are traits that I'd associate with thiefs. (you remind me of a mix between Zidane and Yuffie (: )

Hooray for Triple Triad, Mug and Cid Highwind! :D

I think you're a Thiefy Thief! There is some Black Mage in there too, but you seemed to have a fast-paced nature to you (you're a fast learner and can be impatient) which makes me think of the Thief class (high speed stats and such). Open-mindedness is definitely a trait I associate with thief characters as well. What you wrote about being the idea-generating co-leader seems like a role a thief (e.g. Locke, Rikku, etc.) would find natural too. :)

[identity profile] haryan.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
My first impression was Thief for you! Even if I have to admit I can see a bit of Monk as well in some of your answers. Your three best and worst traits remind me a lot of characters like Zidane, Locke and Rikku. You especially remind me a lot of Zidane from FFIX, because like him you're adaptable, open minded and tolerant, a good listener and you seem to enjoy helping others but you're also impatient and quick temper.

I wasn't wavering on this one at all xD;; I see a very strong Thief streak here, with some elements of Monk as well as White Mage (though they're pretty much overshadowed by Thief, personally speaking). You noted that if you stopped to mull things over, you'd never get them done. That, coupled with the overall impatience, impulsiveness and energy really brings this class in particular to mind, and I think the best/worst traits you mentioned (adaptability/quick temper) really add to that Thief vote, for me. I found your answer to #6 interesting, though; and perhaps that (along with the teacher-vocation) is where some white-magey facets show. :)

We're relatively close on that feminine/masculine thing, but I have to disagree with the make-up bit ;P I think your favourite FF character picks are really interesting, and I laughed out loud at the favourite weapon bit. xD

[identity profile] arivess.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Ahaha, I'm going to agree with all the Thief votes. You seem very much like one! Smart, adaptive, energetic, impulsive, and all that. As mentioned, the Spiderman decision is very much a thiefy one. And I'm all for this beating-people-up-and-taking-their-valuables dealie. XD

Thieves

[identity profile] cowturtle.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I really was just about to say Monk, but Thief won over in the end. The highly adaptive bit that you mentioned is probably what swung it that way for me. It struck me immediately as a thiefy trait. Monk popped in and battled a bit, especially around the Spider-Man decision and the teamwork question, but I think that Thief is the general feel that I get from you, especially in an analytic kind of way.

Yeaah, so this doesn't feel like an 'agreeing with everyone else' post at all, but I'm definitely gonna have to go with Thief! It was the Mug-love that sparked it for sure, but there's lots of other little things too - like how you said you just bounce right back because there's no point worrying, I am exactly the same, heh. Also that edge of impulsiveness and energy is really telling.

[identity profile] tjemd4.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going with Thief for the following reasons.

Your Spiderman decision narrowed the class list quite a bit, and the "fast learning" and "adaptive" traits were key terms for me. Your fondness for Mug played a large role, and your response to forgiveness sealed it for me.

Image

[identity profile] hilian.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not very original but I have to agree with the Thief votes for you. How you described your personality and especially your positive traits ( good listener, open minded, fast learner and adaptive ) remind me of many thief characters like Zidane and Locke. Plus you're cheerful, you can be calm if the situation calls for it but you're usually more energetic and even if I can see a bit of monk and soldier as well in your application, your Spiderman decision made me lean more towards thief!

Image (http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll106/HanabusaAidou/Firma/?action=view&current=breyzyanna.png)

[identity profile] roax.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Your tone really makes me think of Soldiers for some reason. You sound quite realistic and down to earth to me, however your traits really do fit Thieves much more. They are much more open-minded, adaptable, tolerant than Soldiers. Most of your x'd answers and explanation really make me think of thieves like Locke for example. You try to deal with things and be cheerful but you realize it's not always possible, you don't hold grudge that much, you're not overly energetic like most thieves in newer FF games. You seem to be also quite supportive which reminds me of them too. You are like Thief/Soldier mix to me.
